The fan worked for a little while. We ran home, changed the batteries thinking that was the problem and it didn't work. Even tried another brand of new batteries, nothing. It was 530pm and the closest spirt was atleast 20 min away. My lil guy cried all night - don't let it happen to you!

The design of this costume is one of my all time favorites. We received so many compliments on this costume. This was worn by my 5 year old average sized child. I give it a low rating because a vital piece was missing from the costume. The fan component requires an outer ring to screw the fan onto the fabric. The ring was missing. I attempted to call spirit halloween but never got anyone to pick up after long wait periods. I attempted to use the 'live chat online' feature of the website but it was never active. Spirit did not give any sort of email address for help. The nearest Spirit store to my home is 55 miles away. They did not have the costume in stock so exchanging was not an option. I ended up contacting the manfacturer by email. While they were quick to respond, they were unable to help. We were able to make a piece to fit it on, but this took several hours of our time. The battery pack lasted two hours, which was insufficient for trick or treating time in our area. Also, for the price of this costume it should include the shirt, hat gloves and mustache-or at least some of these accessories.

My son loved this costume! He is 8 and it fit perfectly. The reason for the 4 stars is because it goes through batteries pretty quick. Luckily my husband thought ahead and brought extra so that my son could finish treating with a full Yoshi.

I'd previously reviewed this product and had given it four stars. I can't figure out how to update my existing review so I'm adding a new review. The product was adorable and my 8 year old son was very excited to wear it. However, the battery/fan pack is very poorly made in retrospect. He tried it on at home twice and it worked beautifully. Halloween morning he wore it to school, and the fan/battery pack worked once. However, it didn't work when he turned it on for the Halloween parade, nor would it work when we tried to go trick or treating with it that night. We tried new batteries, and basically were able to determine that the contacts in the battery pack were poor. If you pressed or rotated the batteries a bit, it worked. Take one step and it cut out. So while I love the idea of this costume, the execution didn't work at all. And now I'm out $90 by the time I bought all of the accessories for a costume that only worked for an hour at most and two photographs.

i was very disappointed that after walking around for about 10 min the fan ring fell off without notice and was not to able to locate it. make it hard for my child to walk around with the fan falling into his pant leg.

Quite expensive considering it doesn't include hat or mustashe & yoshi doesn't blow up all the way but my daughter loves the costume so that's what matters

When I received this costume in the mail the fan to the blower was broken. Thanks to the Palmdale, California spirit store staff they were able to help us in replacing the fan. My son was very disappointed receiving the costume. It now works fine and we are happy with it

My 8 year old son chose this costume, and it's truly adorable. He loves it, and fortunately it's going to be acceptable for wearing to school too since it doesn't obscure his face or have anything frightening about it. Unfortunately, the red shirt, hat, mustache, and optional white gloves don't come with the costume. When you buy those items too, the whole costume ends up costing roughly $100. That's a bit pricy for an item he's only going to wear once, and his brother likely won't be interested in using next year.

It didn't have the red shirt, or the red hat and the other one we bought didn't come with the mustache's so it wasn't great when we opened the packages on Halloween night

My son LOVES his costume. The fan in the suite makes it real difficult for him to run around or jump in. He is a kid, he is going to do that. If the fan was more securely fastened in the costume, that would make it better. Other than that he has had many complements and has brought many smiles to many faces.

The costume is adorable. It works perfectly and fit better than expected. I would give it more stars, but Halloween isn't here yet. Let's see how it performs on Halloween.

Overall product is great. My Son loved it! Was a little disappointed that the Mario hat and mustache were NOT included. Also, we were missing a yellow button on the costume and I wasn't going to pay for the shipping and handling fees again just for the button.

A bit pricey but Great costume! Fits my 5 year old perfect with plenty of room to grow. Battery operated fan requires 4 AA batteries . Only down side it does not include hat.

This was my 6 yr old sons favorite costume ever! He's a huge Mario fan so this was the perfect choice. The fit was great and the price was reasonable. He got many compliments when we were out trick or treating. The battery lasts about an hour so just keep some extras on hand. I would suggest the company include the hat with the costume instead of having to buy it separately but otherwise, I definitely recommend this costume for any little video gamers like mine

Everywhere we my son got tons of comments on how awesome the costume was and how no one saw anything like it. He loved it.

The fan stopped working during my son's Halloween Party that we were hosting right before trick or treating on Halloween. We changed the batteries but the fan didn't have enough power to inflate the suit. No replacement fans are available, either. Poor quality fan and therefore not worth the money to spend on this costume and the extra's you have to buy to complete the look.
