Comments about Spirit Halloween Adult Miss Scissorhands Costume Mini Dress - Edward Scissorhands:
I loved the dress, it was breathable and comfortable. The wig was perfectlying full and adorable. I only wish the scissorhands gloves were more realistic and made of a harder material. Other than that, the costume was great. I look forward to getting more great and original costumes from you next year!

So happy I bought it!
I ordered the small and it fit me just fine. I was comfortable. I'm only 5'2 and 123 lbs. The slashes on the chest area left you a little exposed so I just wore a tank top underneath so it'd be suitable for work. I'm a little top heavy so I needed to. At night time it did look sexy though. I won our Halloween costume contest too at work. Everyone loved it. I did wish they hadn't folded up the foam scissorhands when they packaged it. I had a hard time trying to get them to flatten and straighten up.

I would buy this again but in an XL
I'm 6'2 so the Large I ordered looked more like a shirt than a dress. Other than that I was looking forward to wearing it.
Very short for a 5 foots 8 girl
Seriously, I really loved the look of the outfit... But just could not buy it as it was really, REALLY too short. It actually look more like a tshirt on me than a dress lol. I'm tall (5'8") and busty (34DD) so it was probably not helping... But you definitely should avoid if you are more than 5'6" especially if busty.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I ended up just ratting my hair because I didn't like the wig. The costume had a small hole in one of the seams by the end of the night, but other than that, I loved this costume

I bought this for an office party and won best costume! It was easy to pull off and comes with everything except shoes and tights.I wore with fish net stockings and black leather boots. The foam scissors was a bit bent but if i had time i would have kept it under a heavy telephone book to flatten it out. The wig was a bit kinked but that's ok. It looked messy and unkept which suites the character well. All my co-workers loved it and i even wore it out and accompanied my son trick o-treating!
Beautiful Costume minus the Scissorhand
This costume was for a Halloween Party. I loved the wig. If you have a lot of hair like me, be prepared to tuck, tuck, tuck it in. The wig can definitely be styled for many uses. The only complaint I have are those darn gloves I scrapped them, and told everyone I was a futuristic punk rocker.
Not too bad :)
By Crafty Lauren
It was an overall good costume. My only complaints were that the actual "scissor hands" were not made very well nor were they sturdy. When I pulled them out of the package they were all bent up and I couldn't get them straight again. and the wig was a pain in the butt to get on and play with. But besides that I had fun wearing it.

If you're looking to buy this just for the dress, buy it! Don't, however, buy this for the scissorhands or the wig as they are both pretty awful. I'm 5'5, 145 lbs, 34/29/41 and the medium fit well, though, it barely covered my butt. I'm pretty conservative with my wardrobe but once I put on black tights, I felt comfortable wearing the costume. I would NOT get this if you are going to a work function, however. The dress: It's decent and what you would expect from a packaged costume. It comes with a choker and a belt that I didn't wear. The choker looked odd and the belt was very big and just awkward. The wig: This thing is a joke. I just bought a $25 black bob wig from a wig store and was very happy. The gloves: I mean, they're foam costume gloves but you absolutely need the gloves in order for people to know who you are. After all, Edward Scissorhands didn't wear a dress. There are better pairs of gloves out there but I found that these were just fine for a party; I think I would have stabbed people or myself with anything other than foam. What you'll need to buy: - Boots (invest in some goth boots with belts, etc. It COMPLETES the costume.)- Tights (Fishnets are a bit much but they work. I ended up wearing plain black tights since my boots were over the top goth.)- A wig- Liquid latex for the scars on your face. These won me the costume contest! Youtube has some GREAT makeup tutorials for this costume. Hope this review was helpful! I'll try to post pictures when I get them.

The costume it self was good..the wig was terrible and the scissor hands are made of foam not plastic as i expected them to be made out of..I wish the costume came complete with the boots and leggings but instead i have to wear black skinny jeans under it. The dress is a bit short and I'm sorta tall so im used to it....It fits me as more of a top. Im not that big of a girl and i bought the biggest size.which barely fit me....

Not a Great Costume
from Bonham, TX
I wore this to my school, the scissors are foam and not really a great quality. It leaves black-ish purple marks on skin where the sleeves and choker are and takes a lot of scrubbing to get off.

I bought this costume for a halloween party at work and I won the costume contest!! The wig was great, it stayed on the whole day at work, and the scissor hands are made of foam so I didn't break anything. It is kind of short so I wore capri leggings underneath with my lace up boots.

This was the best Halloween costume I have worn. People didn't recognize me, which was the plan. I got compliments all night long, and it was sexy and edgy and fun, and appropriate. I even made it into the local newspaper and Patch. The wig was amazing and I worked it with some back combing and it tied the entire outfit together with the right make up. Loved it. Would totally recommend it.

I love this costume, just know that you're going to need to buy the nicer set of gloves or make your own because the foam ones don't do the idea justice and are the most important part of this outfit. Some people complain the wig isn't a nice curled one but I love it being crazy just like the real scissorhands one. I always worry between sizes. The fit of this is super nice, I could fit into the medium just fine when I usually go with a large. I did opt for the large just to add extra skirt length though.

Won best costume at the halloween party! Very comfy to wear and dead on Edward Scissorhands
from San Antonio
The costume was short, I mean really short! If I even leaned forward you could see my butt. The scissor hands were a joke, my friend laughed when I pulled out the flimsy "blades". SO! What I did was made some improvements that made it look great! I wore black ripped up skinny jeans underneath with some boots which looked neat. Throw away the wig its stupid and straighten your hair and start styling and teasing. And those scissor hands, find some thick foam of the same material or cardboard and trace the shapes of the blades and duck tape it to the blades. What I did was put on the gloves and wrapped duck tape around my fingers so I can have control over the blades. It turned out better then the costumes picture!
Nice costume, not worth the price

I bought this costume with some hesitation after reading quite a few bad reviews. I had already decided on being Edward Scissorhands for Halloween this year, so I decided to go for it anyway. First off, let me tell you about the pros. It's a cute costume and it'll work perfectly for the one night I need it. It's not as flattering to my body shape as I was hoping, but nothing a little accessorizing can't cure. Now, let me delve into the cons. The scissorhands are horrible. They're made out of a cheap foam, and when I took them out of the box they were crushed and bent and I had to straighten them out. I also modified them by making them knuckle gloves, and ended up taking off all the "scissors" and re-gluing them to the gloves. Next, the wig is useless. I don't have an overly large head, but I literally can't get this thing on. I don't know why they would package a small wig with an adult costume, but they did. Lastly, the cuts shown on the chest of the costume are approximately 2 inches long when you get it, so you'll have to cut them yourself. Honestly, I wouldn't waste your money unless you have a coupon or you're getting it for about $15. It'll work for Halloween, but it was not worth the [$] I spent on it.

This was a unique costume. It had a great twist to it with the (not included but shown) stripper boots. I love how the costume stretches so it can fit any body type rather than having curves made in the costume already. It was affordable because it contained everything except the leggings and boots. The only thing that could have been better was the Scissorhands. Being made of foam made them safe, but also made them look slightly cheap. I would just say plastic next time. I might make my own for next year actually. I can't wear it just once!

not like the picture
from Rancho Santa Margarita, CA.
About Me Trendy
The costume is made cheaply, i wore mine one night and it is already ripped. It is very short, made for someone like 5'. I am 5'7" and had to wear a black petticoat underneath it, it was more like a top for me. Also it does not come cut across the chest, I had to do that myself. The wig is awful, looks nothing like the picture, huge rats nest, not curled or girly looking at all, i went out and bought a seperate wig, the wig they give you looks like the real male edward scissorhands, crazy. the belt was huge, i had to safety pin it around my waist.

I hated the scissor hands, they were cheap foam and didn't even stay upright. Awful quality, cute costume and idea, but awful quality.
Definately does not make the cut!

the costume itself is very comfortable and looks very cute on. The scissorhand gloves on the other hand are a complete disappointment. The picture of the costume led me to believe the scissorhands would be made of that hard plastic like the Freddy krugger claws, instead they were made from the foam board you give children to do arts and crafts with. That alone made me dislike the costume.

Being a huge Edward Scissorhands fan I was so excited when I saw this costume online and had to have it! Unfortunately it wasn't so exciting when it arrived. The biggest disappointment was the hands, they are thin, flimsy, light grey (and unrealistic), foam-like shapes that DO NOT resemble scissors (NOT THE HANDS IN THE PICTURE!). On top of that the wig is NOT the cute curly one in the picture, its a straight frizzy one. AND, if that's not enough, the sleeve is TOO small and doesn't stretch!Enough said, Halloween is TOO close and I have no time to send it back, I have to make best it I guess!

great costume, weak wig and gloves
from Abita Springs, La
I got this because we have a high number of trick o treaters every year. Dressing up is a big deal at my house. This costume is great but needs a lot of extras. I had to get a petticoat to go under the skirt to make it look cute, also some boots that laced up about calf high, the gloves are black and not good quaity grey gloves like it looks like in the picture. The wig is NOT CURLY. I believe that the guy wig was put in the bag. I don't know. I went out and got a cute 1920's flapper girl wig. That made it precious. I got the chinese finger attachment metal nails to look spooky and just trashed the gloves. The sleeves are different lengths so it looks legit and the black choker and belt puts a good touch to the costume.
Kind of disappointed
from Long Island, New York
I ordered this costume back in the beginning of September and it took nearly 2 weeks for it to get here! Well, let me tell you, it came in the mail yesterday and the dress part itself was what I expected...but the scissorhands that they show in the picture are NOTHING like the ones they actually give you. It came with these foam made scissorhand gloves that were a MESS! (I recommend buying the deluxe gloves.) Also, the wig was nothing like what was in the picture. It was not curled, the size ran small, and there was no bangs on it. On the chest part of the costume there was supposed to be big rips going across like it shows in the picture, but yet again, the picture lied. The costume only had 2 inch rips across. I feel like the company false advertised this costume a bit and should really update the picture. I had to make a few tweeks to the costume itself but with a new wig and REAL scissorhand gloves i'm sure it will look great.
Costume is NOT as shown in the picture
The dress, sleevelets, and choker were adorable! The costume itself had a great fit. The wig is nothing like the wig in the picture, it's very short and straight. I wasn't planning on wearing the wig anyway though, so this wasn't really an issue for me. There was, however, one thing I couldn't get past... the gloves shown in the picture are plastic and very well designed, these were NOT the gloves I received. The gloves I received were little black gloves with rubberbands attaching a floppy foam "scissor" to each finger. The foam is thin and the scissors have no shape! They just flop around and look NOTHING like scissorhands. Spirit does sell a pair of plastic, nicer looking scissorhands, but I would have to cough up ANOTHER [$]for gloves that should have been included in my costume in the first place. Very disappointed, the costume should not be pictured with a pair of gloves that aren't even included.
