Comments about Spirit Halloween Animated Flying Bat - Decorations:
When I seen this in store I bought a few because theyre so cute and they would mimic an actual bat and its size. Theyre motions were very intriguing to the kids as they were hung to the ceiling.

Won't fly in a circle
We had a bat like this years ago and loved it, and were so excited about getting another. But this one doesn't fly in a circle. Just flaps its wings. It looks like the piece it hangs on is supposed to spin or swivel, and it doesn't. Don't think we can return it this late.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Sure wish we could see him fly
By Going batty
The kids and I were SO excited to get this guy home and hang him up. He flies/flaps and lights up, but he won't go in circles at all. The middle piece in the center just won't turn to help him fly. We've tried everything.

This is my second bat..the first one my daughter (5 at the time) got ahold of and tore the wings. A few years later I replaced it with this one. The hardware is total junk. The swivel mount the bat hangs from sticks and thus not allowing the bat to fly in a circle. I've tried everything from loosening the screws to using graphite powder to make it more slick. Still no luck & no number on the box to call & get a replacement. & since all sales at this store are final I'm screwed.
Guest Services Response:Thank you for reaching out to us with your concerns about this bat, and we're sorry to hear that it will not fly in a circle. We'll be reaching out to you via email to make sure that you receive a bat that will go around. I have purchased 2and neither work
from Miami, FL
I purchased one about 5 days ago. Popped in batteries and its eyes would light up and wings flapped but it didn't fly in a circle. Tried another set of batteries but nothing changed. Took it back and exchanged it for another one with the same outcome. Will be returning, super disappointed. It seemed like a great item.
Guest Services Response:We're sorry to hear that your bat did not fly around the room. The flying bat is an awesome prop, and this is definitely not a common occurrence with it. We will be reaching out to you to make sure you get a bat who will fly in circles, which will be sure to haunt all of your guests. Thank you for contacting us!
Bats r us.
Excellant. Put one in the middle of your yard and let it fly from a metal post.
Love these little boogers

The bat looks great however in comparison to the video the range of circular motion is very small

My family and I like to go Halloween camping and we decorate our campsite. I have had the same item for nearly 20 years and a few of them finally wore out, so when I saw these available, I knew I had to purchase them.

It works but would only recommend for indoor and short duration party. Otherwise will spend your time changing batteries.

Well as much as it can attached to a string. But it did really fly. It gets going on its string and flies in a circle. I hung one each in the stairways coming up to the house and people were ducking for cover to avoid them. Some were more scared of the bats then any other props. They were a great addition. I bought 2 more on clearance after Halloween to add to my setup for next year.Even the cat chased them. LOL
great looking item

You need to be a bit careful because the wings seem like they could break if abused. Some of the material is starting to come off the wing but a little glue will easily fix that. It is too noisy to put anywhere that needs to be quiet. Works better if you have a solid mounting point. It is pretty menacing if you know someone that doesn't like bats. I have two that I will hang from a stout tree limb for Halloween.

Animated Flying Bat Decoration
By Spirit is awsome
I liked everything about it!!!!!!!! its very cheap which is AMAZING and it got a lot of people's attention! the only thing that I didn't like is that it is very delicate on its wings... if you decide to get one, make sure you don't move its wings to much or they might break off!

Bought this for my grandson who wanted a flying bat toy for Christmas. He loved it. We didn't attach (with screws) to the ceiling. We suspended it from a light fixture. The bat flew around and around in a circle. It was great and he loved it.Shipping was fast.

Had two of these that lasted 6 years. Had to replace them this year. They are delicate so pack away carefully.

These work great. They are very realistic and everyone enjoyed them. Sadly, the bubble on one of the packing cards was loose, and the mouning device and string was missing. Will you please send me a new one?
A really cool Halloween addition
from Fresno, CA
We hung this bat in the courtyard area outside our front door on Halloween night. We put in fresh alkaline batteries and didn't turn it on until we heard the first trick-or-treaters in the neighborhood. When we first turned it on while the batteries were still fresh and powerful it started flying around in a circle on the clear nylon tether string connected to it. It looked awesome flying around in a circle with its red eyes lit up and glowing! As the evening wore on and the batteries drained it stopped flying in a circle and instead just hung there with its wings flapping at an increasingly slow pace. When the Halloween traffic finally died down to almost nothing we turned it off. All told it had been running about two hours and the batteries were pretty worn down. This is a great little animated bat and really added a nice touch to our Halloween decorations outside our front door.
The kids love it.

I love it so much, the baby stops crying to watch it and it scares my 24 year old daughter, its perfect :-P
A lot of fun
This was a hit at an annual Trunk or Treat event! The kids LOVED it. Going to hang it on our porch for Halloween night, too.I would indeed recommend it.

I have had this bat for five years now and LOVE IT! It has been well used,, one of the wings is taped from running into the wall a few times. We have had to replace the strings a couple times, from them getting tangled and knotted. My husband loves it so much he works on it every year, gives it a nice tune up and it runs like new. This is a must have and a great addition to any Halloween collection. You wouldn't believe the power this bat has, he literally flies in circles fast! And the batteries last. I think this year we will finally retire it and buy a new one.

nice outdoor decoration don't get wet
By Leo the holiday lover
from Kerrville, TX
This makes a wonderful outdoor decoration as long as you don't get it wet. It can also be used indoors with a high ceiling. It doesn't really swoop per say but flies in circles at a constant height. I use mine outdoors for Halloween decorating hung on a fishing line about 12 feet in the air. The bats' eyes glow red from the LEDs and there are also painted on fangs. It is extremely fragile however after discovering my first one on the floor when my cat swatted it off of a table. It broke the arm of the wing but surprisingly the motor still worked.

I bought one of these 3 years ago. It's still going strong. I just bought 2 more. One for me when my 1st one dies out; because they won't make them when I need a replacement, and 1 for my neighbor who loves mine to death.Make sure you have atleast 4' of space for the bat to fly in circles.
I have had one of these bats for a few years. Very reliable. I purchased 2 more this year. One for myself because I doubt I'll find them when my first one decides to die out and another for my neighbor who loves it to death.Make sure you have about 4' of side clearance so it's not obstructed to fly circles.
