Comments about Spirit Halloween Adult Spartan Costume:
While the price stinks, the costume itself isn't too bad. I made it work for me.

I tried this on in store amongst other costumes and fell in love with this one! When I put on the gown I was concerned that it was a little short for my liking. I continued to put on the leather armor and came across one issue, while the bottom belt piece added some length making me a little more comfortable the Velcro doesn't close far enough leaving room for a beer belly. Im probably going to check the other location to see if they have a smaller size but if not I will probably just add Velcro strips

About Me Adventurous, Bargain Shopper
My wife made a great choice, the fit was fine, the costume was well made not flimsy like some costumes. The total price was ok since I was expecting to pay between $70 and $80, the local store met my expectations(accessories increased the cost- helmet 15, sword 7 and shield 13) We had a fun night out, even won best couple prize.I would recommend to a friend

I'm going to start out by saying that I am a plus size woman who bought this after not finding anything I like in my size. With a few minor tweaks, this will be my Warrior Princess armor! But don't fret, guys. It looks exactly as it does in the picture so no one will mistake you for Xena. The costume is pretty good quality for the price. It comes with a full under-tunic that falls to the knees on me and I'm 5'11". The armor is a rubbery faux leather material that doesn't breathe well but it's pretty hearty and if you're planning to wear it somewhere chilly, that's probably a plus. The upper armor has ties on the side that let you adjust the size but that also makes it very difficult to put on by yourself without practice (just make your DD your squire and you'll be all set.)The belt/kilt is the same material but has a long velcro closure in the back so it isn't as adjustable as the top. Also, the armor pleats don't go all the way around the back, just an fyi. The leg wraps and bracers are also a velcro closure but I don't/can't use them so I can't attest much to their quality (leg wraps are too small on me and bracers are waaaay too big.) But again, I'm a woman so man-mileage may vary with that sizing issue. The only real problem is with the overall sizing. The package says that it will fit men's size 42-46 but it runs smaller than that. I can wear a men's 40-42 pant (hey, I work at a clothing store and get bored on Tuesday nights...) and the chest armor fits but the belt/kilt just *barely* latches in the back (and yes, that's wearing it on my natural waist and not my hip.) I might end up punching a couple of holes in the back and using something to tie it on like the chest armor has.To summarize: Good quality, adjustable sizing, runs on the small size.
Good but made for too broad sizess
Looks good but needs work if you are not a big person, or even if you are just "regular" build. It's sized for a very large range of people. I'm 175 and 5'8, and it was loose and will require extra velcro strips to tighten up.The gown that you see above his knee? Well if you are around 5'8 it's past the knee...no big deal but a bit too large for general people.1. You have to remove the strings from the upper piece when you place it over the gown. If the upper "armor" is tied on the sides it will sinch and pull the gown, making the arm sleaves different lengths...this requires another person to help.2. Immediately after buying, throw the gown into the dryer on Fluff (no heat) it is full of fabric balls that went all over the house as I tried it on.Overall a "okay to good" costume but needs work. If you are regular build you'll need to play with it and the velcro strips (they really should place more of them) is sized for someone heavier. Finally VERY difficult to put on. The gown as I mentioned caught and was impossible to fix once the whole outfit was on. Very important to tie up side strings AFTER you have it on.
