About Me infuriating
At first glance this looks like it would work really well. but don't be fooled, the only thing this putty sticks to is your hands. i spent over an hour trying to get it on my face and one quick shake of my head sent everything i had done flying. Seriously i think i spent more time with this putty stuck to my hands then yelling at ti to stop peeling off my face 0/10 would never recommend. Spirit I am disappointed

This product is absolutely horrible! It doesn't apply easy! It's dried out so you can't work with it at all! I would not recommend this product, its a complete waste of money since they won't let you return it!

Tips on how to use this great product!
from Toronto, Ontario
To those who complain that this product sticks to your fingers... of course it's sticky, it has to be sticky or it will fall off your skin! I don't even use lotion or petroleum jelly on my fingers because it slicks up the wax and may prevent it from sticking well where you want it. Knead a small amount of it between your fingers to soften the putty (although if it is really hot where you're working, the putty might be soft enough), roughly shape it the way you want it, press it onto the skin (I recommend a layer of spirit gum on the skin first to really help the wax stick), then use a palette knife to smooth the edges invisibly into the skin. You can also knead a small amount of foundation makeup into the putty before applying to closer match your skin tone. You can create incredibly realistic cuts, bullet holes, etc. in 15 minutes or less, but it takes a little practice. Use a putty knife, it make this product incredibly easy to use! I actually prefer the SPIRIT brand over other professional scar waxes. To make this effect last all day, seal the skin with SPIRIT Liquid Latex first, create your scar, bruise it up with grease makeup, then seal the whole thing with a thin layer of latex. This keeps the wax from cracking too. Then powder the wound to cut the shine, and appy blood. I love the Bloody Scab product for this.

Not good at all.

About Me Stage Makeup Student
This putty was horrible. I bought it for my stage makeup class since I'm running out of the scar wax I usually use for wound makeup. Being from a Halloween store I expected it to be at least decent quality, but it resembled tooth paste quality and should have known better, and from now on will bewas impossible to make lifts in "wounds". I sticking to higher quality makeup (despite the higher price). I would only recommend this if you're absolutely desperate and don't have access to higher quality material.

This works fine and as attended. It is a wax so it's meant to be sticky like all scar wax/putty is! You need to use petroleum jelly on your fingers and tools when applying and shaping so it does not stick to them. It doesn't matter what brand you use it's wax and will stick to everything without petroleum jelly or some other similar barrier. It sticks on it's own but it's always recommended to use an adhesive such as spirit gum to secure it to the skin better. It is also intended to be used under makeup so you can match the wound/scar to your skin tone and needs to be set with powder before applying makeup. The product is perfectly fine and previous negative reviews seem to based on user error and not product error. My only con is that I can make over 4 oz of it at home with dollar store supplies for $1 cheaper then this small container. But I definitely recommend this product if your just doing small makeup projects.

The putty stuck to my fingers so much that it was hard to form into the shapes I wanted. Unfortunately, it didn't stick that well to my face & parts of fell off halfway through the party.

It's a shame that most people don't know to to apply a moisturizer to the wax once it's applied to your skin. This helps it from cracking. Also, before applying it to the site you want, roll it between your hands to get it softened so it'll blend better. The shade may be darker/lighter, but that's what makeup is for. This product is good, but not on it's own. The extra effort it takes to make this look great is minimal.

The putty is awsome i thought i lookes great. It takes practice to get the hang of it but once you get it it looks great the reason it cracks is because you have to seal it with make up sealer. i have good make up experiece so it was easy for me to do!

It looked pretty good at first, but it didn't stick well, was hard to get out of the container, cracked within 20 minutes of wearing it, peeled off, stuck to my hand when I touched it, and didn't blend into the skin very well. Bleh!
