The creative teams behind our famous in-store experience have been consistently raising the bar every year with their astounding creations, and we can’t wait to show you what they cooked up this year! Our in-store experience for 2023 is bigger and better than ever before, and not only that, but we’re ecstatic to be celebrating Spirit Halloween’s 40th anniversary!

Our stellar creative teams have been working day in and day out to deliver one of the best experiences to date and deliver the ultimate homage to our 40 years as Spirit Halloween.
In 2020, we took a visit to the terrifying and haunted Reaper’s Island, home to all kinds of creepy characters and ghoulish creatures. If you were brave enough to explore the island for yourself, then you were sure to find Reaper’s Island Village and all the secrets hidden deep within Reaper’s Island Cave.
In 2021, we took an exclusive tour inside the Spirit Halloween Factory to see exactly how some of our most famous animatronics are brought to life.
In 2022, we brought you inside for a closer look at how some of the most twisted and wretched amalgamations from Dr. J Reaper’s imagination come to life within his secret Monster Laboratory. Home to all kinds of strange and unusual creations, our 2022 display was one of the most ambitious and terrifying yet… until now!
With enhanced architecture, an emphasis on lighting, and various outdoor elements to really set the scene, we welcome you back inside the Spirit Hallows Cemetery in honor of our 40th anniversary! This fan-favorite in-store experience is new and improved for the 2023 season, and we can’t wait to show you what’s hidden inside!
Spirit Hallows Cemetery
The Spirit Hallows Cemetery is the ultimate celebration of many of our past themes and animatronics, and we’re so excited for you to explore and discover all our cleverly hidden easter eggs for yourself! Home to various undead animatronics, both old and new, upon entering the Spirit Hallows Cemetery, you’ll be sure to come face to face with some of its most terrifying inhabitants. Those guarding the columbarium include Stilts, Pretty Woman Leatherface, and Martian Warrior. Once you make it past them and get a closer look, you’ll find all kinds of references to past animatronics as they lay to rest in the columbarium.
Leatherface
With his brute strength, revving chainsaw, and bone-chilling screams of rage, who better than this cannibalistic serial killer to guard the cemetery? With up to 360 degrees of upper body motion, this animatronic is sure to give you a fright to remember!
Stilts
Things in the cemetery can be quite cutthroat, making it the perfect environment for Stilts’ next act. This Stilts animatronic features a side-to-side moving torso and a head that moves 360 degrees to truly give you one final terrifying performance!
Martian Warrior
This Martian Warrior animatronic has come to invade the cemetery! Get in his way, and he’ll zap you into oblivion with his light-up features and mist-shooting gun blaster.
Dagger Mike
Dagger Mike may seem small and innocent at first, but if you get too close, he’ll pop up and extend, taking you by surprise! You’ll know he’s about to strike once you see his head tilt upward as his body prepares to pop up for ascare!
Slim
There’s no telling what kind of mischief Slim will cause this Halloween once he comes to life in the cemetery! Watch in terror as his torso bends forward to open and close his popcorn bag while his mouth moves along with each of his wicked laughs and intergalactic sounds. This Killer Klown is not messing around!
Heckles
Heckles is sure to get the last laugh this Halloween once he catches you in the cemetery. With a built-in servo mechanism, Heckles will come to life and offer you one of his deadly balloons!
Scary Sitting Scarecrow
After abandoning his life protecting the fields, the Scary Sitting Scarecrow now sits and helps guard the Spirit Hallows Cemetery. He seems lifeless at first, but with his bowl of candy, he’ll tempt you into getting closer before popping up for the ultimate scare!
The Widow
Standing at five feet eight inches tall with a neck that viciously snaps when activated, you don’t want to be in the path of this widow when she goes berserk. You’ll never forget the sounds of The Widow once you hear her hysterical cries of screaming and laughter deep inside the cemetery.
Mausoleum Row
Survive the night in the Spirit Hallows Cemetery and you’ll soon find yourself in Mausoleum Row, home to some of the most dastardly and wicked creatures imaginable! There are plenty of secrets to find inside Mausoleum Row, and if you happen to knock somewhere you’re not supposed to, you may be surprised with what comes next! Snap a picture inside our Spirit Hallows Cemetery coffin for an awesome photo op, but be warned. You can come in, but you will never leave!
Hell Spawn
Dealing with the devil is never a good idea, especially in the cemetery. When Hell Spawn extends up to 8 feet 6 inches tall to drag you into the flaming depths of his inferno, you better be ready to run. His evil voice lines and light-up yellow LED eyes will have you wishing you never crossed his fiery path.
Darling Dolly
With her lurching forward motions and creepy blue LED eyes that flash red, Darling Dolly is sure to have you spooked once you come across her in Mausoleum Row.
Gourdo
Gourdo is not your average Jack-o-Lantern! With his light-up LED yellow eyes and pop-up mechanics, he’s sure to catch anyone off guard in Mausoleum Row. Prepare to scream when his mouth opens and he extends up to 4 feet 5 inches tall!
Lil Skelly Bones
You can run, but you can’t hide in the cemetery from Lil Skelly Bones. At three feet tall, he’s the master of hide and seek and will always find you with the help of his LED light-up yellow eyes.
Floating Howling Spirit
Once you hear the eerie howls of the Howling Spirit, you’ll already be well within his grasp. Avoid getting snatched up for yourself!
Eternal Rest
You don’t want to mess with any tombstone The Eternal Rest Animatronic is guarding. Threaten her lover’s grave, and you’ll be sure to meet her truly sinister side. Watch in fear as she turns her head 360 degrees to reveal a set of red LED light-up eyes and a truly horrifying skeletal face you won’t soon forget!
Black Heart
Love is what brought Ava to her downfall, and now her partner, The Black Heart, is ready to seduce you to be his next victim. Speaking menacing phrases from his moving mouth and opening his arms to reveal what remains of Ava inside his cloak, this Black Heart Animatronic is one of the creepiest in the cemetery.
Grave Watcher
Don’t get caught lurking around the cemetery at night, or you may just run into the Grave Watcher! This Grave Watcher Animatronic stands at 3 ft tall and will be sure to pull you in with his tilting head and creepy moving arms. The yellow LED light-up candles and red LED eyes truly bring this animatronic to life.
Desmodus
Avoid becoming Desmodus’ next meal once you enter the Spirit Hallows Cemetery this Halloween. You’ll freeze in terror as he extends to grow up to 7.3 feet tall with his lunging mechanism and 79-inch wingspan. Desmodus only has one goal, and that’s to feed his insatiable taste for blood!
The creative team behind our famous in-store experience has done it again! After months of hard work developing the next iteration of our in-store experience, they’ve managed to expand on the lore of Jack the Reaper and deliver an adventure worthy of a 40-year celebration!
