Comments about Spirit Halloween Webcaster Spider Web Gun - Decorations:
So I just got this thing but, I'm suffering a bit of a problem. It needs an air compressor to work. I was hoping to rebuild tis into a web shooter for my Spider-Man costume, but because I'd have to buy a huge bulky $500 thing to get it to work, I'm gonna have to send it back. I'm sorry, but you guys really need to remake this thing into something any old Joe could use.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I love all the animations that I've bought so far!! The web caster looks like real webs after they set a little bit

It doesn't blow the web as much as drops down. Have a 1500psi compressor and still drips

A little practice & a little craftiness.
By DIY Haunt

Bought the Webcaster Gun for outdoor decoration. It does take some practice with the air pressure and how much glue you squeeze out to get the right threads. Make sure to let the gun heat up and have something to catch any drips from the nozzle. Make sure to buy A LOT of glue sticks as you'll burn through them fast. I bought the clear sticks and my only complaint was that unless the webs are uplit they are very hard to see outdoors at night. The webs will need some support like fishing line to be sprayed on if you aren't putting them directly onto a surface. A little bit of a pain to clean up off of stucco and concrete but pretty satisfied with the effect. It was a great addition to our front yard haunt!

The spider web gun is a unique product and easy to use. The spider webs created by gun look very realistic.

About Me Midrange Shopper
Five minutes of adjusting and practice and you have very realistic spider webs. There needs to be something to attach to so you need to experiment a little to get the webs to span across airspace. You do need adequate air volume and pressure. It works just like advertised.

my neighbors can not wait for me to decorate for Halloween they love my house, the web caster gun adds a realistic effect .on my first time using the web caster it took me 20 minutes to get it down. now I just shoot and go this is my 4th year on using the webcaster I recommend the clear color ..

Excellent tool, takes a little practice
from Orlando Florida
After a little practice this thing works beautifully. It took nearly a full pack of caster sticks but I was able to make a full length skirt/wedding dress with only fishing line as a guide and the caster sticks. It takes some testing to find the best pressure and range for the web you are looking for, I have found that 3-5 feet tends to be more globby, 5-10 feet tends to be thinner. Higher pressure makes longer thin strands while lower pressure has more blobs. It can be tricky getting used to the control but it works very well once you dial in on what you want. Expect to burn through a few sticks practicing and it does eat caster sticks and it takes two sticks to maintain a proper flow and trigger function.
Takes time and patience, but worth it!

I bought this and we used it outside to decorate for Halloween. Once we got the hang of how it works between the heat gun part and the air compressor part, it was really amazing and fun! The webs really do look real. I think it would work much better with a larger air compressor. Mine is only 3 gallons and the gun used up that 3 gallons in no time so we were constantly having to wait for the air pressure to build back up. But the end result is totally cool. I am not sure I would brave using it indoors since it does dribble large lumps of web goo all over. Again it could be more my air compressor was too small. That probably should be mentioned in the directions. Also it should be mentioned that it won't work well in windy conditions. Even slight breezes will cause the light weight webbing to fly where you don't necessarily want it...like in your face. But we were thrilled with the end result. It is still up and looks even more realistic after 5 days of being outside. I highly recommend this webcaster.

Awesome tool for webs!
By Spider Man
from Boulde, CO
I had read other reviews and had been looking for the gun anyway. It took a little practice to get it right but once I did the webs I produced were amazing. My neighbors couldn't believe how real looking they are. I found that using very low air pressure coming out of the gun worked best for me. Just enough to get the melted glue on the tip to stream then a slow consistant squeeze to get the right amount of glue out.

this gun was AMAZING!!!!!!! anyone who says its junk does NOT know how to use it. it is a little hard to figure out since you need to let the glue fall in front of the air, & it wont make webs constantly, but once you get the hang of it, it's great! i took off a star only because of the level of experience you need to have with it, & the amount of time it takes to do it right, but otherwise its perfect!

will not work as said, takes lots of sticks, makes a big mess, Ye4s I did just like it said to do, you better off just using a glue gun to make the webs, since you have to build one with fishing line first, save your money

I did just like it tells you to had fishing line , all it would do is leave big globs everywhere, took me an to set up to do the work it took me 45 mins to find out it do not work like they say, it took 1 hr & 15 mins to clean the dam mess up it made! Save your MONEY! do buy this glue gun~! since it will not cast webs, I can not call it a web caster!
Almost sent it back
By Axe Eugene
After about 7 glue sticks, I finally got the hang of it. The glue kept hitting the air and flipping back on itself. It's an acquired skill, It uses a lot of glue sticks, but looks fantastic. I'm doing a spider-infested hallway in my haunted house.

About Me High-end Shopper
It will take practice to start shooting that pretty little web but when you look at your finished creation first thing you say is..."WOW it looks sooooo real"! I actually saw a small REAL spider walking around my webbing! Now if thats not true testomony I dont know what is! When I used this indoors I was carefull to keep a cardboard box under me. Reason being, first time I used it I turned on the air, squeezed the trigger on the web gun and shots of glops and glops of melted web sticks on my walls and floor!! Not easy to clean up!!! So Ive learned to keep a cardboard box under me at all times! I squeeze to hard on the trigger and a glop of it comes out you aim it down into the box and let it drip in the box rather than on my floors and walls....System of letting glop fall into box was flawlwess. Just keep your eye on tip of web gun. If you see glop building up on the tip of the web gun WATCHOUT! Dont keep shooting the gun or youll shoot that glop were ever your aiming!(that glop is hot!)Rememeber to just keep an eye on the tip of the webgun and when the glop builds up just simply aim it down into the box! It takes a little time to create some of these pretty webs but well worth it when your done! It can be very difficult to see the string of web coming out of tip of gun...You dont just aim and shoot! You have to keep a VERY close eye on that tip of the gun not to squeeze trigger to hard and to keep a nice SMALL amount of medium(melted web sticks) coming out of it....Thats were practice comes in ....No worries youll pick it up pretty quickly with practice! Over all I really like the gun.It might sound like Im downing the webgun but Im not.I like it alot! Only helping so you can hon those skills and become better web maker faster! Then get ready for some awsome webs!

Beautiful, natural looking webs
from Lakeland, FL
I love the natural look of the web this creates, but I am reluctant to use this indoors as it may be difficult to remove from some surfaces. It looks great and caused no harm to my front yard bushes.
Great Product, But Takes Practice
By Best Yard Decorator
from Livermore, CA
The Webcaster is really a nice item, but if you dont have anyting for the webs to catch, it doesnt work. I.E. in my front yard in my graveyard, i ended up having to string fishing wire everywhere so it would actually float in mid air. Another problem is that if you pause for even an moment, and try to shoot it again it will glob up all over the tip, so keep a rag handy. Also, it is EXTREMELY hot, hotter than the average glue gun. But generally a good quality product. Great buy for the price.

Works as advertised
from Paris, Canada
Works great, and just as expected. Make sure you don't have a small/cheap compressor. I tried on my little compressor and got poor results and was frustrated because the tank was too small and the compressor was always running. When I used my good compressor I had great results and no issues.
