Good products, fair price.

Took it out of the box, then set it up in the yard Halloween eve - it was not working before the first trick or treater showed up. Poor quality. The plastic ring that spins around to make it pop up has little plastic teeth that prevent it from popping up prematurely, or over and over - one was broken on the third pop up. We all but gave this thing CPR but there was no way to fix it. Obviously, you get what you pay for.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Overall appearance is good. Easy to put together in about 3 minutes. Sound effects are loud but are not very clear -- after all, he is a zombie. Pop up action is very fast. I anchored mine to a scrap board about 3 feet long by 1 foot wide. Prop is now rock solid. Everything is great for now -- hope it holds up.

Great Prop- If it would keep working
By Dr. M. A. Drake- Halloween 2012 Crashed
I bought this prop in July to prepare all that I needed for My Hallowwen Haunt 2012. We set it up on 10/09 at 6;30pm and it stopped working at 6:40pm. It worked great 3 times and then STOPPED. Now I Have to see if I can exchange at my local "Spirt " store or get a credit on line. This prop is great action, but it has poor quality workmanship. I don't blame "Spirt" but their supplier. This supplier in their own paperwork say don't contact store if you have a problem contact us instead - they don't want "Spirt" to know what kind of poor quality items they make. DO NOT BUY YOU'LL BE SORRY
A Great Buy!

We bought this zombie man last year, and he still works great! Although my dad left him in the rain he did difunction, so we took him back and got another. The fact that I don't like the kids on my street (Even though they're in elementary, and i'm in highschool) makes it even better to give them a good scare, when they're being too loud!My dad and I set up a baby moniter so we can sit on our porch, and he will still pop up with noise. All in all, he was a great decision.

I needed something to make those going through my Halloween Party "haunted basement" jump, so something like this tha lunged would be perfect. Assembly was pretty easy. The foot activiation pad worked perfect. Problem is, the voice only worked once. After that, never heard his scary growl again. The initial growl is very important for the scare and is needed to mask the motor noise. I am returning this product ASAP. The local Spirit Halloween had 2 other boxes, but both looked as if they had been opened and returned. I will steer clear of animatronics from this store in the future.
Centerpiece of my Halloween haunt!

I own this guy's predecessor, which we purchased from Spirit three years ago. While it's not the most robust of designs, if you pay close attention to the instructions it should serve you for years. Most important is to make sure the base is weighed down with sand bags or rocks. He's most effective if you can place him in a hidden place (like a coffin) and activate him with an external step switch or motion sensor. His built in sound detector isn't very reliable but it's easy enough to interface an external switch or sensor. Also I was never able to get the included remote control to work. One of the best aspects of this effect is the fact that he's spring loaded, so when he activates he literally springs upright in about a second. Scares the bejeebies out of people if you can activate him at just the right moment.I placed this guy inside of a home made coffin that I made, and this year I plan to up the effect by adding a professional motion sensor, fog, a coffin lid motor and a microprocessor to orchestrate the whole thing. I can't wait to see the final effect!

About Me Classic
Had this prop set in the front graveyard scene last year. 1/4 of the kids that came never made it to the front door! As stated, though, you will need to put weight on the base. Great scare, love it.
Poor Quality Prop - I do not recommend!

I went to our local Spirit Halloween store & purchased this product. Brought it home...it did not work. Wiring problem. So they replaced it with another. The new one worked great...for about an hour...then stopped working. Wouldn't pop up or make any of the noises.

This guy was my very first animatronic, and boy did I love him! I always create a haunted graveyard every year for Halloween, adding new animatronics each year. I was sad when I first got him, he wasn't stable outside in the grass, everytime he would spring up, he would fall to the side, luckily my neighbor had a big black piece of wood that I screwed his base into, and he worked amazing after that! He never once fell over! But sadly, this Halloween I was upset to find out he was broken. His voice sound would activate, then when it was finished he would finally spring up (after the sound was done), then he wouldn't go back down. After trying it again with him upright, since he didn't go back down, the voice sound activated as he was going back down, thus eliminating his spring foward, which I thought really added to his creepiness. So his sound would come on, but he would NEVER spring up like he is suppose to. Other then that, I absolutely loved him, especially being my first animatronic! I will replace him this year with a new one, but I will not throw the old out, as he is creepy enough, I will use him as a body in the graveyard, with some spray on blood! He is worth buying another! I got so many compliments from everyone in the neighborhood on the graveyard, especially him! He is so spooky, I had to add foot pads out this last year so the little kids didn't get too frightened (The first year, I just had him on sound, and it scared the heck out of the little ones, they wouldn't even come to the door for candy!) Over all, if parents are having their children pose for a photo next to this guy in my graveyard every year, that tells me right there he is an awesome prop!

Good piece however the base is too light and when it activates and "pops" up, it bounces on the base. A small sandbag solved the problem for us. Aside from that, its sudden movement scares the "*" out of trick or treaters.

Dog was terrified!
By High school kid

We put the zombie in the living room and when we turned it on, the dog ran out of the room and didn't come back in for a good hour. Next time we did it, she hid behind people and jumped up on the couch next to mom. Can't wait to use this on Halloween!

Great addition to our haunted yard. We have the foot pad on our walkway and the zombie prop behind a bush. Works perfect. Scared the kids, but they love it.

Only works for a few hours
from North Dallas
I purchased this product last year and it was great when it first came in. It was easy to setup and use and we got a kick out of it. Unfortunately, the stand in which it pops up from continuously fell apart and his momentum made him move forward quite a bit everytime he popped up. We were able to keep him in a single location by placing small weights on the stand. After about 2 hours of use, the voice and the animation became out of sync. He now pops up at random times and says the verbal "welcome to our graveyard" at random times. When the voice and animation are not in sync, this product totally loses his scare-ability. If you are only wanting an hour or two of enjoyment, then purchase this product. Otherwise, don't waste your money.

Didn't Last Long
We purchased ours on halloween and it didn't even last through the night. We got a couple of hours of use out of it before it started to malfunction, as many Spirit Halloween animated props usually do. The base was not heavy enough so he had trouble popping up and then eventually the plastic gears inside stripped out and he didn't pop up at all. It's very frustrating to spend that kind of money on something that you can't return and only get a couple of hours of use out of it.
