Dropping sensor too small

Comments about Spirit Remote Drop Down Spider:
Unfortunatley there was a very small area in the very middle of the mat that had to be stepped on in order for the spider to drop. If this spot was not touched then the spider did not drop. Also the mat itself does not look very durable.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Great idea but...
from Albany, NY
Set this guy up and was shocked at how big it was (about three times larger than some of my other, sound-activated drop-down spiders). Is a nice product to look at and was pleasantly surprised to find that it came with batteries included. Unfortunately, the mat you step on to activate the spider is VERY slippery and light-weight, making it terrible (and potentially dangerous) for outdoor use. The spider must be also hung -directly- over mat in order for it to pick up the sensor at all, which means you better be prepared to hang it pretty high up if you don't want this to slam into someone's head. The spider's pretty hefty too, so it had a tendency to knock itself off of it's hanger as it came down due to it's weight alone. The mat also has one small censor, in the center, so there's actually a good chance of it never getting triggered at all. Am quite disappointed in this, since it's such a great idea, but cannot justify recommending this product.
