Things that go bump in the night are scary - so is this Lurching Vampire animated prop! This evil creature stands over five feet tall and is waiting to pounce. His period attire and medallion necklace along with his carefully crafted features add to the drama. When activated by sound or motion he lurches forward with eyes alight and mouth moving to utter scary sounds. Creepy, cool and clever, all in one!

This is my first day with lurching vampire. I already thing it is GREAT!!!! It lurches forward to scare kids or adults! Perfect jump scare especially if you stand it up in a coffin that is standing up. When they walk past it, it will lurch out of the coffin! Its also good without a coffin! His black eyelids open up opening his eyes, his eyes light up red, he lurches forward and makes sounds such as shouting "BRAHH (evil laughing)."

this item broke within the first 6 trial runs. its "legs" are the cheapest possible brown hollow plastic tubes, and it relies solely on them to catch it after its lurch. but it's so top heavy that it just doesn't make sense that this was approved and released for sale. like i said, one "leg" broke almost immediately causing it to sway to the side during its lurch. the legs are NOT fixable. using tape is only a temporary fix. the included weight does absolutely nothing and considering how top heavy the item is, one MUST anchor it to the ground in a sturdy fashion to prevent it from falling every single time its activated. it also sucks in the wind because its body is nothing but a slim plastic tube. so when wind hit it, the viewer can easily tell its practically nothing but a cheap fabric cape draped over some slender tubes.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This is a follow up to my review last year. Our first vampire did stop working, but I called the company who were very nice and immediately sent us a new motor and now he works just fine. Fine company! Scary vampire! (even gets the older trick or treaters every time)

We are hoping the gears hold out for some good use over the next few years. Having a few laughs before Halloween right now. I'll follow up later if issues arise.

Didn't work when I received it. Waiting for refund.

Bought this in 2010 for our haunted house, after a few times of use the gears broke and will not pick its self back up. It does have a scary look to it, which makes it an expensive stand arond prop. This is a piece of junk and dont wast your money on it.
Great Effect, but doesn't last!

Went to use Dracula for first time ever for Halloween Party. Worked great and had spooky effect for guests early on in evening. However, by end of night, did not work at all. Tried everything to get back on. Very disappointing! All that money to use for 4-5 hours. Unique prop when worked. Cheaply constructed.
I used a step.pad with this.

I have a hallowen maze and this worked for 15 minutes then gears broke ,I have lots of children going thru and after it breaks only thing that works is the sounds and lights if the manufactor could fix the gear problem it would be top of the line prop .The first time it broke they send a new base mechaniasm , and once again it broke .none of kids touched it it justs stips the plastic gears due to the lurching motion

We purchased this item last year, used this item outside at halloween, when we first put it together it worked just fine, his eyes lite up and he lurked forward, it was very cool. then halloween night we put him out and the first time he lurked forward the pole holding him up snapped in half, and his eyes stopped lighting up, we duct tapped him together and now he just stands there looking creepy.

3 rd season with this still works great. Did make a custome large foot pad. So I don't know how the sensor works.

Last year I saw it on the internet and thought it looked ok. Went to the store and saw it at which time I forgot what it was supposed to do so I stepped on the action pad. When it started up its eyes lit up and it started talking during which time I thought to myself "is this it" then in leaped at me and I SCREAMED causing everyone around to laugh. Of course I bought it. I even put it infront of the door. I would stand behind the door when I opened it for trick or treators. It worked so well I had to chase down one girl that ran away screaming to give her her candy.

Used the product Halloween night only and it broke while lurching. Cheap plastic parts snapped in half. Not worth the money nor the time to assemble.

Can't stand the wind outdoors. The first big wind broke the mechanism that makes it return to the jump position. Unable to get replacement part. Didn't even last the one day. But have to say it is really scary. Great for a haunt house.

I put him in the hall and used a foot-pad, where he could jump at people as they came in. He was one of the most popular decorations I had last year. Everyone wanted a picture with him.

Powerfully SCARY !!!
By Bird Leggs

I use many scary props for Hallowe'en that guide trick-or-treaters towards their treats. This one is so scary I must "hide" it from the very young children by placing it out of their paths. We have busloads of families who visit my "spook house", so we want it to be fun, not fateful fright.
Fun to use
from Moorhead, Mn
Mine did not work after it was put together and the local Spirit store said the motor was put together wrong where it was made and gave me a new one that works fine. Weighted nicely so it maintains it's position. Will work fine in our haunted garage we do halloween night.
Too much money!
By Nikki :)
this prop doesn't move smoothly its poorly made and to much money don't buy it!
This will be a big hit on Halloween. It is very scary and "jumps right out at you" Easy to assemble and great sound! Can't WaitIt might even be a little too spooky for the younger trick or treaters.

impressive, but stopped working fast
By Halloween is the greatest holiday ever!
I loved this vampire when we first got it. The lurching movement is very effective and scary. But I had to move him a foot from my door and he stopped working 20 minutes into Hallloween night. Upon further discovery one of the gears had broken inside him when I moved him. I should have been warned when the one at the store was broken in the same way, but I bought him (a new vampire) anyway. He looks great, just be very gentle with him. If anyone has any ideas where to get gears for him, I would love to know it.

Great prop, worth the money!
Very happy with my Lurching Vampire. Works great with a footpad or "Try Me" button for well-timed scares. The motion is very sudden and realistic, but not so dramatic that it might hit anyone -- fun AND safe. My only suggestion is that you weigh down its base a bit before operating, or you might notice him scooting forward as he's used repeatedly.
