It's alive! Or maybe not - this animated crawling zombie is horrifying, dead or alive - and even more so when you control his every move with the included remote control device. Make him crawl forward, left, right or backwards as he utters scary sounds from his open mouth. This gruesome prop will liven up any Halloween party; use it to bring new meaning to the night of the living dead!

Comments about Spirit Crawling Zombie Animated Prop:
Brought it home. Upon opening box, found that it was used, not new. Instructions were for different product. Battery case missing cover. Not sure if we had all the pieces (because we didn't have instructions). Best part was that we got a full refund. Great idea, but really poor execution!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Some Fancy Stuff Here!
from Emerald Park, SK, Canada
This robotic creep is perfect for scaring trick-or-treaters as well as party guests as it is detailed, loud, and life-sized. And while it works quite well it is rather slow and the lower arms are held together by a single thin metal bar which is easily bent when attempting to fold it's arms for packing.

Awesome prop. bought it & set it up under a covered table in my garage. Scared the Jeepers out of the Trick or Treaters!!!
from Columbus, Ohio
I have been wanting to buy this for at least 3 years and finally broke down and did so. He has been affectionately named Hershel Walker because I received him the week that Hershel on the Walking Dead lost his leg. I was going to use this prop outside for Halloween. Aside from the horrible weather this year I barely got to test it. He looks frighteningly real and the sound effects are excellent. I did not like how loud the motor was. I also noticed that you have to be close to the zombie for the remote to work and found that mildly annoying. I was also concerned about the durability.
I like it but...
from Durham NC
I did really like this product but I would have liked it better if there were an option to leave him on where his head moves and arms move a little but he doesnt go any where. I like the fact that i could make him crawl places but he is pretty slow so someone has to stand there a while to realize he is coming after them. Also the range on the remote is not that great. I had to stay within 10 to 15 feet to make him keep going. You also have to keep the button down ALL THE TIME to make him keep moving thats a little annoying as well.Over all we like Shane (we name all our characters cause he once was a person after all.) and will use him again next year. But I strongly recommend some improvements. Especially for the cost.
Great in my classroom!
from Lethbridge, AB
The remote worked from anywhere in my classroom which was awesome, but a sensor setting as well would have been nice.
from Glasgow, MT
He gets a rating of 2 because of the stress he caused and how he worked. Wish I would have read the reviews before I asked for this as a gift! Batteries that were included inside him were corroded, just like another customer listed, and the battery in the remote was dead. Why include them at all? Well living in a remote area, it was hard for me to find the battery I needed for the remote. Finally got all the batteries I needed and he worked.... for about 10 minutes!!! I only tried to make him crawl a few times and he started dying out on me!! Plus the range on the remote is sad. Last, I thought the remote was an added bonus and that he would move on his own, but he doesn't. So I would not recommend this for the money it costs. Yea, he is awesome to look at, and he scared the kiddies, but I want an item that works. Would have returned him, but only a 14 day return policy and it was too late. Not happy about that either.

Looks nice, but a waste
from North Liberty, IA
I bought a crawling zombie from the local store in iowa city, iowa. and when i brought it home and opened the battery door on the zombie the batteries were corroded. I replaced the batteries and It did not work. Took it back to the store and the owner said that it was last years model and the batteries were old. He did not have another one at the store, so he said he will check the other stores in the state to see if they had one available, and they did. When I got the new one the owner told me it works. Took it home and only one arm worked. Took it back to the store, the owner refunded me, he offered me the spitting wolf for a little more than crawling zombie, I told him i was interested in it. He boxed up the spitting wolf for pick up the next day. When I came to pick up the spitting zombie, he assured me this product does work. Took it home and the mechanics worked fine but the pump the water goes through did not work. I have been to the same store 4x's in the past week and a half and have purchased more things that dont work than items that do work. VERY DISAPPOINTING. When i arrived with the spitting zombie today, I made it clear i was unhappy and he tells me that he just received an email saying there where 20 wolfs that came back because the pump was not working. Information I could have used the day before. Horrible experience with the store. Especially after wanting to spend about $400.00 dollars.
Wonderful... When you can get it to work
By Fidel Sarcastro
Let me say it moves great and looks even better. Where this goes from being a 5 star product to a 3 star product is the remote. Unless you have the remote antenna pointing directly at the torso it will not work and it has to be precise. Like many others i thought it was low batteries, it would jerk and stop every time i pressed the button, i changed the batteries but that did nothing. Thinking it was the antenna wire i straightened it out, cut a small hole in the back of the shirt and fed the antenna wire up through the shirt. Still though it would not work unless you directed the remote right at the receiver wire. Sadly this could have been a must buy item but with this problem i don't recommend unless the buyer knows what he or she is getting into.
One of the best zombie props I've seen!
from Maplewood, MN
About Me Adventurous
Bought this at the Spirit Halloween in Maplewood, MN. It was the "example" in the store, played with it and fell in love. Bought it off them for a discount too. They removed the hair - this is a MUST if you plan to own this zombie. The hair is pathetic, he looks so much better without! The remote is fine, I would love for long distance but I am still ever so happy to have this addition to my haunted house.

Lots of fun
from Arlington, VA
I have a huge Halloween party every year and tend to keep an eye out for more unusual decor. I prefer Halloween to be scary & gruesome. Cute little kittens dressed up in witch hats do not go in my house.I decided to buy the crawling zombie after visiting the Spirit store in San Francisco. I probably would not have bought it from the catalog. This prop shows off much better in person. I also love the fact that it is remote controlled (no wires!) and can crawl in four different directions! For my party, I left him sticking out from under a cloth-draped table. I gave the remote to one of my guests, who had him crawl out whenever people were nearby to great effect. Loved it!The only con I have for this is that it doesn't seem to get as much traction on polished hardwood floors. I didn't try him out on other surfaces, but I guess a dense carpet might work better.

Mine Does Not Work
I just received mine the other day, I was so excited to get it because it would be a great addition to my website. I have two problems with this item. The first, and probably most important, is that it does not work at all. I installed all new batteries; I even replaced the two AAA batteries that came pre-installed because they were corroded. Yes that's right, a brand new item costing [$]and the batteries it comes with are corroded. Yes this item looks awesome, but since it does not work at all, why waste your money?

Cool, but wouldn't buy again...
from Florence, AL
Saw it and had to get it. Didn't realize until after I had thrown the box away the range for the remote is only about 3 feet! I found what appears to be a coiled antenna, so I unraveled it but that didn't help. Changed out all the batteries and still no better. Can't recommend now for the price if I have to be right beside him just to get him to move.
Short Range for Remote
I must be going through another mid-life crisis to be buying so much Halloween stuff! Fell in love with Sydney (what I named him) and adopted him. First noticed that left is right and right is left on the remote. Then I walked just a few steps away and he wouldn't work at all. I literally can't be over a couple of feet away. All new batteries, too. He has what appears to be a wire antenna that extends over 5 feet, but stretching it out doesn't do any better than keeping it all coiled up. Now I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with him. Can't recommend for the price.

crawling way to slow
By Bruce Lee
hey used the remote better so you can control scared some one if it doesn't have remote you just let it sit there thats not fun but its way to slow they should make it crawling faster
Why couldn't this be sensored activated?
from springfield, va
Fell in love with this prop the moment I saw it, but then saw it was remote only! Why Spirit why? Us big haunters don't have time to fiddle about with remotes. I like to let my props like this one roam free range! Revamp for next year please!
i would buy this zombie again
i love this crawling zombie i heard some one just say don't like the remote the remote is better so you can wait till some one walk over then push the button to see them got freak out

He has a great scare factor. I just wish the remote worked at a further distance.
why remote control only?
I so wanted this item when I saw the video, but then when I went to get it, I found it was remote control only!!! why spirit why? couldn't you have made it sensor activiated to? had to pass on this. . .and I wasn't happy about it.

Love this guy! so creepy and lifelike. the only thing I have a problem with is I wish he had a setting where he could be sound or motion activated and not just controlled by the remote.
