I bought this for our haunted house last Halloween. It was fun last year. Nice and loud too, which was great for the Haunted House. I pulled it out of the box to use again this year and it no longer works. It still lights up, but there is no sound. I thought maybe I had the wrong adapter and maybe I mixed it up with some of our other props, but no. It just isn't working. It really sucks. I thought we would have this for several years at least. Poor quality. Don't bother buying .
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This is a great example of wasted potential in a product. The mirror looks very authentic, so the appearance of a girl in the mirror has the potential for a great startle/jump scare. However, the voice chanting "bloody mary, bloooooody maaaary" is cheesy, and gives away the illusion of the mirror being normal. By the time the girl flashes onscreen and screams, you know exactly what's coming, so its not very scary. Imagine instead if the mirror, after a 1 second delay on sensing motion/sound, flashed up the same image of the girl, but covered in blood (this is bloody mary, right?), and screaming, with no forewarning. It would at least have the potential of a great jump scare. This is doubly frustrating because very few of the animatronics sold at Spirit are capable of creating that startle effect. They tend to be slow moving and create a spooky or creepy effect, but only rarely (like the jumping spider) do they actually scare or startle. So its a shame to see a prop like this that is close, but not quite there.

About Me Budget Shopper
The mirror itself looks great but when you activate the product, the picture could of had better colors besides grey and blue. Overall great product but i wouldn't buy it again unless i had enough money....

I saw this in the store and loved it. If you know and love the Bloody Mary urban legend, you will love this mirror. I did wait until after Halloween when everything went on sale. Going to hang it in my room and scare my friends.

Great prop but very loud
By Kenny Bellew

This is a beautiful mirror. You could hang it in a room year round. The effect it pretty cool I think. You absolutely cannot tell it's not a real mirror until the effect goes off. The only bad thing is that it's very, very loud, and people get tired of it quickly. In a lighted room, it goes off constantly--less in a dim room. Solution: Unscrew the back, remove the speaker, wrap paper towels around the speaker, then wrap tape around the paper towels until you get the volume level you want. This worked perfectly for me. A volume control in next year's model would be nice.
A must have

This was one of my fist purchases this year, I look year around for unique items that I don't already have to add to my haunt collection and this fit all my criteria. It is so realistic one of my friends thought it was a real mirror until I plugged it in. The image of Mary is clear as she appears the voice gets a bit loud, I might have to cover over the speaker part to see if it can be quieted a touch.

Some improvement, but could be better.

Absolutely hated last years mirror and was hopeful for something better this year. However, while the concept is good, it's still too silly for my tastes. The voice calling out bloody mary, bloody mary, blooooodddddy maaaary is just ridiculous. The image of the woman is nice, however, couldn't they have made her move in some sort of way like with a double image or something. . .It's a definite better effort than last year, but I still make better mirror than this in my opinion.
