Comments about Spirit Animated Rise From the Grave Grim Reaper:
I purchased 2 of these reapers after Halloween and didn't open them until this Halloween year. I did find them small in size but I placed each one on a upside down bin and placed a ankle weight to keep them from falling off bin on their unit floor base. I did have to clap to get the sensor to work and with fog machine scrold light it was a HUGE hit. One of the reapers stop going down for a bit but used them for about three hours so wasn't suprised batteries wore down and was pleased with small size of reapers afterword. Most of all easy to store for years to come.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

LOVE IT, but died the following year =(

This was such a hit last year at our annual Halloween Camping trip. Unfortunately, the grim reaper did not work this year, even though it was properly stored away with no batteries inside. SOOOOOOOO disappointed.
Scary Grim Reaper

About Me Midrange Shopper
Got this for Halloween. Works well, except when it jumps up it sometimes falls to the side. Probably could use a sturdy pin/stake to hold down back flange. Otherwise, good item to decorate with. Should be careful with small children, might be a bit scary for them.

It is awsome
I love that it comes with a remote. I think this will come in very handy.

I love it! It was a great feature to add to my collection. I was cheaper then most of the pop up item and I was amazed at the little details that had been incorporated.
A great item for a haunted house setting

We'll be using this in our outside Halloween graveyard setting. Looks great in the dark. Sound is a bit weak, but the element of surprise makes up for that.
The Grim Reaper Scares everyone

I used the grim reaper in my front lawn in my grave yard setup. It's a great prop. It scared all the kids and adults that walked to my door. The sounds on mine work great. The lights also worked well, It pops up from the ground. The only thing negative is you need a large sandbag to keep it from tipping over. Overall I love it though.

This is a fitting addition to our front yard cemetery.
from detroit, mi
he was easy to put together but you will need to have him nailed to a broad or something heavy. because when he jumps he moves all over the place. i did notice that it doesn't work on all noise took me clapping my hands to make him jump up. i haven't used the remote yet that came with it but i will in the next few weeks as i get my house ready for halloween. this was a good buy because of the price and i highly recommond buying the power adapter for it, i did and i'm glad i did because he seems he would of ate a lot of batteries. good add to a halloween collection for someone like me on a low budget.
Go buy NOW!
If you dont already have this in your halloween aresenal you MUST go buy this! This is my second one and everyone last year thought this was a hit especially we enjoyed using the remote control feature for just the right moment to scare! For the price its absolutely worth the buy
GREAT PROP SCARED ALL THE KIDS
from Gilbert Arizona
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS GRIM REAPER PROP . IT SCARED ALL THE KIDS ON MY BLOCK. HAND REMOTE ACTIVATED worked best. Its eyes light up pops up and makes noise. It was my main piece last year.

The sound and motion never were in sync from the first set up.The words of the sound only worked a few times: then it turned into garbled noises. The remote never worked; it went off by itself randomly, many times missing the scare. I tried to contact the manufacturer since my Spirit store said they couldn't fix it. Manufacturer never replied. Waste of money. Search the web and find instructions to build one yourself for about the same money.

You had better secure this one well because it will jump! I love this and I can't wait for my annual Halloween Party. This is going to scare them for sure!
Amazing and fast!
By Epik the Scarer

This is a nice and scary prop! I use this prop every halloween for a good scare! With the remote activation, it is easy to I always put a fog machine close to it so that it is not super visible before it pops up. I would consider keeping people away from the prop at least 1-3 feet away since the whole thing pops up and springs forward sometimes knocking itself over. Also when activated (LOUD Sound or remote) the lights for its face turn on and it says "Raaaaaaaww" then a loud click is heard, it springs up and then fake screams are played as it says a unclear message, "Welcome to our Graveyard" then utters a laugh as it slowly comes back down to the original position. It is an amazing product and I hope if you are reading this, consider buying it.
Nice, but Stopped Working Quickly
By Halloween Master
from Tomball, Texas
I liked it as did those that stopped by to look at decorations. The sudden spring and sound effects did scare people (even some adults were shocked). Trouble is it didn't hold up to the weather well and didn't work after a single Halloween. For the price that isn't acceptable. It also had trouble standing straight up because of the narrow base. I had to put a brick on the base to keep it from falling over when it popped up.
Awesome Neighborhood Scare!
from Levittown, NY
The pop up zombie works great. Its my best prop. I have it set up on my porch where there is an overhang. The footpad is underneath my door mat. Its scared the pizza delivery guy and some of the neighboring kids. I have had it for eeveralnyears now and its held up well.
Mine Broke too

after 3 days the sound activation didn't work right.it got wet in the rain and quit working.the springiness when it pops up makes it fall over even when ancored.over all piece of junk.
one of the best !
i put this thing in a home made coffin with some fog and a green strobe light and it scared lots of visitors but i wish it were a little bit bigger.

Put this (Animated Rise From the Grave Grim Reaper, Item# 00161356) together 10/28/12. Followed the direction about weighting down the feet (even watched the video on Tekky Toys website on assembly), and it broke the first time I activated it. The mechanism raised the reaper so violently that the plastic shaft broke at the raising/lower mechanism. Which is too bad, as it had the potential of being very scary based on the sounds that still works. What a disappointment, and it is too late to get a replacement without pay ridiculous shipping charges. Thank goodness I did not spend a lot on it, but I would like to get my money back.

Battery cover doesn't want to stay closed

This is a very cool item, but it is also very fragile. When it pops up the upward pressure is so strong that it throws itself over onto its face. We attempted to weigh the base down, but it resulted in the Reaper being thrown off of the base. We are going to keep it and spend some time trying to work out a way to have it work right next year.
He was awesome.
Outdoor. Taking it apart without breaking the base. I was a little disapponted that an ac adapter was not in the box. Maybe it should be offered at your store. If it was I did not know until a couple of days before Holloween.
A wonderful Animated prop
from Salt Lake City, Utah
This Grim Reaper is the greatest prop i Used it Last Night on Halloween Night, Right at my front door and it scared the parents, and a couple of High school kids. I Just Love this
Broke first time it was turned on
After putting reaper together, and weighting it down as instucted, when I turned it on, it rose so quickly from the horizotal position that the supporting rod snaped at the base. As a result, it will no longer raise or lower itself, and only makes the scary noises. Very cheaply constructed for the force used to proprel the reaper to vertical. Maybe I just got a poorly produced model.
from Denver, CO
After assembling, I turned it on and even though I knew it would pop up, I still jumped! I love this and it is a great addition to my decorations.

Don't forget to buy sand!
from Castro Valley, CA
I didn't realize I needed sand to hold this in place, so don't forget to purchase sand. Also, the sensor seems to be a little dense. The only times we have managed to set it off are when we actually touch it or step over it. Thus far we have not been able to get the remote control to actually activate it.
I was so excited to add this to my collection of Halloween decorations, unfortunately it is now in the garbage.. I got it all together used it a few times and then it just snapped.. I'm so disappointed.. Very happy with the customer service after I finally got ahold of someone though.. :(
