Works at Work!

I LOVE this costume! It's a great fit, I'm 5' 11" and a little overweight, and it doesn't make the pregnant belly that a lot of high-waisted dresses do. It's got the right amount of flow to be a Goddess costume, but i don't know that I agree with it being an Athena costume. More fitting for a Hera or one of the muses. Also a bit low cut, but a quick set of whip stitches took care of that. I didn't use the headband because it looks not quite right with my short hair, (talking pixie cut here) but curling hair and adding some silver eye shadow made it perfect! I would absolutely recommend this to a friend.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The size Medium was a bit long for my 5'4" eleven year old, but we just hiked it up using the belt provided. It was very pretty, and easy to wear!

Very Stunning, Yet So Comfortable...

About Me Adventurous, Classic
I tried this costume on out of curiosity, and oh my goodness, it was awesome! I am a tall but curvy person so it just flattered my figure and I LOVE the cream and light blue color, which goes with the fabric and pattern. If you're not too big a fan to have cleavage show, just use one of those tube bras or something like that and you'll be fine :) I would have liked an Athena-inspired war helmet, some owl jewelry, or something like that, not sure what to do with the headband that came with the costume besides use it for other crafts or redesign it better for costume... Over all, it is a beautiful, well-made costume for the price. Enjoy being a goddess in it, wear it around the house, use it as a Rennaisance Fest or Party frock, just be fabulous in it!

This is surprisingly comfortable! The fact that the skirt has two layers (the semi-transparent outside and the half slip inside) makes it very flattering around the waist, hips, and legs. The bust is a bit odd, as I altered it because the two panels are not connected and kept drifting apart on its own. It is important to note this is more yellow than shown, but it looks more antique that way. Aside from that, this is WONDERFUL, and incredibly priced for the quality of the item!

Very nice costume for the money. A little long and low cut. You need to wear an undershirt or sew up the bust area some, but overall happy with the look.

I wore this costume last year for my family's tradition of dressing up while we hand out the candy to the neighborhood kids that come to trick or treat. The costume fit very nicely and was actually quite comfortable to wear. It was however, a little more see through than I liked in the lower portions of the costume. This was easily handled though by putting on a pair of white leggings to go with the outfit. Aside from this slight surprise, I would say the over all costume was well worth the money and will be one that I will wear again in the future.
Very nice - not very "authentic" tho

My daughter loved this costume. Bought the coin earrings to complete the look. I would recommend for an adult tho, she's a teen. Just didn't have enough Umf for a teen. More for sophisticated person. But we did like it very much.

1st Century Christian Woman
from Princeton, NJ
I gave this 5 stars not because the fabric quality is excellent but because I was very satisfied with the qualities I was looking for - low price, attractive, and adaptable.I wanted to dress as Priscilla from the book of Acts in the Bible, so I started by looking for Virgin Mary costumes. Priscilla is a Jewish woman from Rome during the Roman Empire, and she co-ran a family business, so it is possible that she would have dressed in typical Greco-Roman garb. All of the Virgin Mary costumes I found online were unflattering (not at all form-fitting, more like a sack). So I also looked at Greco-Roman costumes on many costume websites. This one is a great price compared to most of the others that I saw. I was looking for a costume that would be shapely yet not require my abs to be fit. I was very satisfied with this - the baby-doll style and billowing texture covers a flabby tummy while the close shaping around the chest and the ties that you can wrap around the waist give a bit of an hourglass shape. (If you do not want to use the golden ties, you could tuck them up under the arm and leave them primarily inside the dress.)The neckline is very low cut and would show all of your cleavage, but this can be remedied by tucking one of the strips of fabric attached to the shoulder into the dress under the arm; you can then stretch it loosely across your chest, tuck the bottom edge of it under your bra to hold it in place, and then pull it out under the other arm. I draped some of the other strips which are attached at the shoulder around my shoulders, and draped one of them over my head as the expected head covering for a Jewish woman in the Greco-Roman world. It was very successful. Many people at my party said I looked beautiful or like a princess. One woman said I was dressed well to be Perpetua, a 2nd century Christian martyr. I did not use the included headpiece. The fabric is very thin so you must wear a long slip. The color is not as pictured in the photo. Rather than white, the upper part of the fabric is a sort of peach/nude/off-white color. But it looks nice.I am about 5 feet tall so I ordered the size small, which fit fine for a party, but it would be too long for comfortable trick-or-treating or otherwise needing to do a lot of walking. You should iron it before wearing it (though this is true of nearly every costume).

I am 5'4" snd had to cut off several inches. It runs long. I could fit into the medium but found it had little fabric and coverage in the bust area. Had to get a large to get adequate coverage. Got a curly clip on pony tail and it makes for a nice costume. I am debating if I can wear to work because it might be too revealing.

Wore this last year, and I had to get a small because other sizes were sold out. I am 5'8-9" and not small. The fit of the dress is accommodating and allows forgiving room. Be aware, the skirt is somewhat see through, but flows and comfortable. Hope you enjoy!
Easy and appropriate Athena costume!

About Me Classic, Trendy
After trying on this costume and debating whether to make my own, I realized that for the fabric and notions (gold braiding/hoops on the shoulders) I would be paying a lot more than the $34.99 (CDN) this one cost. I will need to wear nude underwear and bra (or a slip) since the fabric is sheer. The headband is nice and the costume is super comortable. I'm glad it's long enough for me (I'm 5'11") when wearing flats/very low heeled gladiator sandals. It's more appropriate than the scandalous mini-dress varieties out there if you're looking for something a bit more conservative and less party-ish.
A Good Reuseable Costume
from Jacksonville, FL
I bought this costume for my best friend two years ago and we made a deal that she would wear it for the next four halloweens. It looks great and fits her. She's very short but full figured which makes it hard to find a good fit, but it looks amazing on her. I would buy it again. Unlike other costumes that tend to only be good for one halloween, this one looks exactly the same as when we first bought it. It washed great.

This is a lovely costume! I'm large and curvy and it is still very flattering. One important note is that when I tried it on I realized I would need to wear a slip underneath--it is very see-through! Otherwise, fits great and looks good. Also, I did find it at my local store, so I'm not sure why it says online only.

About Me Too much to explain
I was trying to look for a reference shot for myself to make a Greek look by hand and I found out about this. Unfortunately, I can't get the outfit myself... T_T I really want this, but I don't have enough cash for it and it's only available online, which I think is COMPLETELY unfair. But, other then those complaints, I'd really love to get the costume even though I like to make costumes myself without a sowing machine(since they don't like me).

Definitely Buy This Costume
By USMC Babydoll

I was worried it wouldn't fit, because of my body type, but it was a perfect fit all around. A tiny bit long, but I'm on the short side, so a pair of heels work well. Would definitely point my friends this direction.
Good for tall Glamazons
I love this and I was it for halloween last year! It is very comfetable but also a little low cut for my liking but not horrible! It kept me warm and I am 5 4 so It was long and a little annoying but I was having so much fun it was the least of my worries I just stepped on it becuase its not that important if it rips becuase its only a 1 time thing! I would definatly recomend this expecially for tall people

Great fit and nice costume
It is a little more pink/cream than it looks in the picture, but I still like the look of it. I am a size 2-3 and the small fits with no problems. It would fit someone a little larger than this as well. It is comfortable. I agree with the other reviewer that you should beware of the length. I am 5ft 4in and it touches the ground but not enough for me to trip over or anything like that.

Beautiful + bang for your buck!
from Philadelphia, PA
This costume is very pretty in person and fits great (very flattering). Plus, its a good deal at [$], when you consider most female costumes are $50 and up! But be warned if you're short, the dress is long and might drag on the floor. Overall though, i can't wait for Halloween!
