Comments about Spirit Halloween 7 Ft Rising Reaper Animatronics - Decorations:
Works well outdoors easy assembly. Mine on walkway as you approached front door. Had two strobes attached and plenty of fog so made eerie shadows. People flinched as it grew and moved toward them
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Works pretty good but the mechanical part is very loud. Only says 1 phrase. And literally as soon as I bought this the animatronics all went on sale for like 20% off before I even got it in the mail. Wish I would have known that Spirit....

About Me Budget Shopper
This is the bestest prop ever!. When I got him, there was alot of things to set up and everything. But you might need some things to prepare because its alot of things to put on. Mid range from 5-10 minutes. But when you are done. There is just 1 concern about him. His rising system is to loud. But other than that, this prop scared more Trick Or Treaters than my Jumping Skull did. I VERY highly recommend this to anyone who is deciding to get it.

Awesome For An Hour

About Me Adventurous
For the hour or so that it worked it was awesome. One of the best of my 6 moving pieces. Then it suddenly stopped rising and just made a clicking sound. The pulley system was a mess. Had to unplug it and just have it stand there. Very reluctant to purchase any other piece that rises until I see some reassurance that the pulley system has been upgraded.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Very Tall and Creepy

This guy is so fun to use at a Halloween Party and he is very scary!
Had this outside the front door. It was in a covered area. We loved it! We couldn't resist buying it. Very pleased!
I would get this again. The pros outweigh the cons
Loved it except for the following. The motor clicked because the string that is attached to raise and lower would stick. Also after running it for a few hours, it seemed to slow down in both motion and voice
The rising reaper rocks!
This reaper was a real good scare and moved fluently with the speech that was it was giving . Eyes were very bright and the sculpture of the skull face was pretty realistic and not cartoonish.

Rising animtronic sounds and causes
By Reaper Collector
from Ogden Ut
I bought the previous version which is the same thing with different costume. I have seen many people that buy these types and wonder what the clicking noise is. hat sound is an anti strip gear that is doing its job. If the gear box doesn't have one then you will strip the gears and the shows over. The gear box is timed with and upper and lower limit. Sometimes things can catch, other times the rope may be slightly off length or correct ratio on the pulley. There should be some slack on the bottom to insure the upper limit switch engages before the end of travel. Keep in mind that once the gears are timed they can't loose timing unless a switch fails in it or the gears actually strip or jump a tooth. This applies to all Seasonal visions animatronics that rise, of which are this one ,the bog reaper, the rising creeper, the rising phantom, and the rising swamp hag. If you ask me I think all seasonal stores should have technicians on hand to repair and troubleshoot issues on site.

I had seen this online and thought it would be a great addition to the other purchases we made earlier in the week. The 7' Rising Reaper was a perfect addition. But when we went to the Spirit Halloween here in San Antonio they were sold out. They still had the display model and sold it to me at a sizable discount. It works great as do our other purchases. As of now we have the Ceberus, Lil Skelly Bones, Twitching Banshee, Crawling Fred, Jumping Scarecrow, and now this. Hopefully, with good packing , these props will last a couple of years. Great fun, they look great.
Big, tall, and awesome

About Me Classic, Trendy
This was my "big" purchase this year (every year I'll buy one animatronic around this price range) and it was a toss up between this guy and the werewolf. The werewolf sounded great, but he looked like a ragged puppy dog. This guy looked and sounded awesome in the store. He was tricky to get together. Not because of the assembly (that was pretty typical) but the way it was running he got stuck and started stretching the cord that rises up (with a clicking sound). I spent a good half hour trying to figure out what was wrong. Finally I realized the metal bar that tilts his head down (when he finishes his cycle) is supposed to be on the top of the bar at the back, not under it. Once I did that adjustment it worked fine. Maybe the instructions said that, but they're sometimes a little hard to understand and correlate to the actual unit.Overall he's great. Talk and very cool looking. My only suggestion (that I'm going to do this weekend) is to spray paint his styrofoam arms black. They're covered by his costume but the costume is somewhat light so you can see the white of the stryofoam. Just paint it black and you're good. His costume fits well and attaches to his arms and head and back and it covers up the entire unit.My only complaint is that the motor is pretty loud. I had to remove the plastic housing trying to figure out why he was stuck, so maybe that'll muffle it more when I put it back on but otherwise it's a good unit. His voice is great and the head (at least on my unit) matches what he says so very creepy looking. He'll be going right next to my door this year.

About Me I'm groovy, baby.
I spent over 30 minutes in the store debating on if I should cough up the $$ for this guy...and I'm glad I did. I'm looking forward to having him (and other props I have picked up) scare the bejeezus out of the neighborhood this year. My only complaint is that when he is returning to the starting position there is a loud CLICK sound that I'm not sure if it is normal, but he still works. Outside of that, he is awesome.
Easy to use, easy to assemble, and easy to love! Best purchase for Halloween I have ever made!
This product is the best prop I've ever bought at Spirit.

I must say, I'm very impressed about this prop. When he is at full height, his cloak is about 3 inches off the ground, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing, because it kinda makes it look like he is levitating.
One of my favorites of 2016!

Good product, High quality, easy to build, and it just looks cool. The only problem is: it makes a loud sound when it completes its cycle.

My new favorite prop
By Jason Halloween
from Los Angeles, CA
I absolutely LOVE this thing! The overall quality and functionality of it are pretty good. The sound is controllable and the max volume is LOUD. If you're not going to be using a foot pad, the sensor is pretty good too. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the mouth Movements are no where near as animated as much as in the demo video (not sure if the video is digitally enhanced or if I have a slightly defective unit), and the arms are made of styrofoam which I feel they should be made of a sturdier material for the price point that it's at.
