Love My Gothic Cemetery Fence!

About Me Midrange Shopper
I can't wait to set this up for my spooky Halloween graveyard! I read the other reviews before ordering, but didn't think any negative issues mentioned would be too difficult to remedy, so I decided to go for it. When I opened the box, I was not disappointed - it looks perfect for my intended use. As others have noted, it's helpful to be a bit handy and also, depending on how you intend to use it, to have some rebar or doweling, some glue to secure any loose finials, cable ties, etc. to secure the fence in place. I think it's a good value for the price. I would recommend this to a friend with the caveat that it may require a little extra work.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Poor quality- too filmsy
This fence is a great design but very poor qualityI had to use electrical tape to secure the sections together. The fence barely supports its own weight.I had to purchase support posts that I zipped tied the fence toThe fence is a half cast hollow mold. I ordered 3 sections and they all arrived with broken tips.Spirit customer service was great- they sent two replacement orders that both arrived damaged.Save your money. This item is not worth the head aches to install.

Looks nice but needs help to act as a real fence
from San Jacinto, CA
Expensive for what it is, but it is a nice gothic design. Don't expect to be able to use this as an actual fence unless you add to it. I used 3 foot rebar and pounded that in the ground at each of the fence's joints and used zip ties to fasten the fence to the rebar. If you do this.. it will hold up for you. Some pieces have required to be glued back on such as the arrow points.
Guest Services Response:Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. This fence decoration is able to stake into the ground on its own. Real Looking Even in Daylight
I'm going to use these fence pieces for my cemetery. We already put them up just to see if they looked good and surprisingly, they look real. Even in the light of day. They are made our of a tough plastic that staked into our hard lawn with out bending or breaking of the stake. Very happy with this product.

I absolutely love them
Looks good on screen...
from Modesto, CA
This looks awesome! But when we tried to put it in the ground, the plastic bent and became useless. There were parts on the top of the "fence" that were missing and were not in the box. If you want to use this inside, mounted to a wall, it would be perfect. For outside use, this would not be the best bet.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Nicer Than Expected
About Me Classic
I'm going to use this for my cemetery scene. It is a Great Height and since the sections connect together, its really long. I'm Very pleased with it.

I purchased this fence last year and knew what to expect. The fence is the perfect look for a graveyard. There are some major design flaws however, the decorative tops break quite easily and there is no way to put it in the ground without some kind of stakes. Given it's flaws I gave it a 3 out of 5 for looks only. If you buy this product keep in mind you have to use stakes to support it because the sections will fall over if you don't.

the product looked good on the website. it was made out of flimsy plastic and was broken and missing pieces when it arrived.
Looks good, a little flimsy

About Me Adventurous
I put this out in my yard to help surround my graveyard. It looks really good. It has a very gothic feel to it and it comes with the ability to attach more pieces so you can make as small or large of a fence as you need. However, the legs that go in the ground to hold it up are made of the same material as the fence(plactic bendable rubbery)and are not significantly longer than the bottom of the fence. It fell over an hour after I put it up and then repeatedly afterwards. I attached tent stakes to the bottom and drove them into the ground to support it. For the record, I have a normal yard. It is not very much of a hill and not hard or soft ground. I have other fences I bought a different year which stand beautifully. I would recommend this if they fixed the way it goes the ground becuase the rest looks great.

The picture looks much better than the actual product. It's very flimsy, and although I won't be needing to stick it in the ground, I don't see how a person could. Also, it arrived broken, but since it's plastic, I've decided to superglue the broken pieces back in place rather than go through the hassle of returning it.

About Me Adventurous, Classic, Queen Of Halloween
I bought eight of these gothic fences because I thought they were so cool looking and totally had that true spooky, authentic haunted graveyard look!!! I was soooooo disappointed when they arrived, as I had ordered them on line. They were so cheaply made it was pathetic!!! They would not even stand up no matter what I did!!! I was determined to make them work as I had so anticipated their arrival to finish my graveyard scene ! They could not even be staked into the ground because the plastic is so flimsy, they just bent back and forth when I tried to stake them in the ground. Also the gothic fence tips kept falling off. these were nothing but a big disappointment !!!! Too bad because they "look" so cool!!!! I returned them to Spirit, and they were good about the return, so at least that went well. Please do not purchase these !!!They look awesome, but you will be truly disappointed if you do !!!
from Phoenix AZ
Plastic too flimsy to put together and too top heavy to stay in ground- they just fall over. The stakes to put in ground would help this, if they were long enough.

Very poorly made
poorly made broken in box when it arrived, too heavy for the plastic pegs for the ground. Unhappy with this product.
from cape coral fl
the fence is awesome looking, too bad it requires a alot of messing with. one of the points was off, no big deal, snapped it back on, except it keeps coming off, guess that makes it more authentic looking.read on reviews here about using re-bar to reinforce it , I tried this, still not very sturdy and is currently just propped against a wall. Need a second set of hands everytime you get one side together the other pops apart ... takes 2 people to keep it together unless you enjoy being frustrated.all that said, it still looks awesome.
spooky fence gothic style
flimsy, will not stand up and hold together, design is great, but needs to be improved, as there is nothing to keep it together, it constantly falls apart and falls over, pieces of it constantly fall off too, would love it if made with a sturdier metal or plastic with connections that would keep it all in place. wont even stand up together against a wall, either, has to be bolstered up with pillows. not worth it. dont waste your money, will never ever stand up outside against the wind, unless you put up another fence behind it, to hold it up?

WOW! Cheaply made is an understatement.
from Phoenix, AZ
Buyers discretion!IF YOU DECIDE TO PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT, YOU WILL ALSO NEED:1. A hot glue gun2. Zip tiesFOR OUTDOOR USE:3. RebarSupplies total more than the purchase price.(This is not an exaggeration)But the plus side is the fence looks great.
not worth the trouble
By halloween freek
these are the flimsiest piece of junk i ever did buy, i love the design though, and knowing this, since i am using indoors against a wall as a fence, i bought it, big mistake, the tops fall off so do the pieces linking the fences together, once you got one together the other one comes apart...i have a coffin that is made flimsy but it works: here is the secret, the piece that fits into the hole should be longer and have a hole in it where you can then insert a metal clip which will keep it together once you fit it into the fence, only this isn't made that way, and it continuously falls apart, it wont even stand up against a wall without falling down, i had to insert pillows between it and the bed to keep them up...if they could be made a more durable plastic they would be great plus my idea of inserting a cheap metal clip to keep them together, it would work,

About Me Adventurous, Trendy
We purchased 10 sets of this because of the children running through our yard and tripping on cords. We received the fencing in a timely manner. I just opened the order and found that alot of the spears on the top of the fencing have snapped off and we are going to have to do a lot of repairs before we can put it out. Also I'm a little afraid of the flimsy ground stakes attached. We may have to come up with something a little more sustainable and permanent.

Fence very cool! Need to be careful when pushing into ground.

nice design, poorly engineered.
from Hemet, CA
The fence looks Gothic enough, but the engineering design of it is so flimsy that the plastic leg stakes aren't strong enough to hold it's own weight. I broke a fence stake with the first try putting it in soft sandy ground. If a wind comes up, forget about it. I was able to fix the problem by buying 3 foot sections of re-bar from the hardware store. I used 2 stakes of re-bar for every section of fence and used black zip ties to bind the fence to the re-bar. I wouldn't try using it by itself.

About Me Trendy
Looks like a real wrought iron fence even though it's plastic. A whole long fence would really look great! Just has the usual problems with plastic fencing...hard to get into the ground unless the grounds wet...be careful not to break it! Used it outside along our sidewalk and in "graveyard". Looks fantastic at night!

About Me Love Halloween, Trendy
The fence look good but the stakes are not real strong for sticking in the ground. Get you some metal stakes and tie straps.
Not impressed - arrived broken
The product arrived broken. The quality was poor which was probably why it arrived broken in the first place. Even if you tried to stand the fence up, the cheap materials would not have it stand straight - it would lean and did not look good at all. I was not impressed and did not reorder it or recommend buying it!
Not Worth it
from Spokane, WA
When I recieved this in the mail, pieces were broken. Attempted to fix but the fixes wouldn't hold. While placing it for a border to my graveyard, pieces broke left and right. It is not worth the money in my opinion. I was very very disappointed.
It came as it was described. I am happy.
