Ready for some serious thrills and chills? Good, because we’re officially smack dab in the middle of spooky season! If you’ve been awaiting the arrival of Halloween all year long, now is your opportunity to celebrate this haunting holiday every day of the month of October.

Below is Spirit’s frighteningly fun 31 Days of Halloween checklist. Whether you participate in one or all of the activities, it’s sure to get you in the mood for ghouls, ghosts, and goblins!

  1. Oh my gourd! Get your Halloween decorating skills on by decorating or carving a pumpkin.
  2. If you have a backyard, have a bon(e)fire with your family. Haha – get it?! Make it a truly chilling experience with our skull fire logs.
  3. While you’re at it, tell some ghost stories by firelight. Check out some of our very own stories here.
  4. Aaaaand roast some marshmallows!
  5. Okay, it’s pretty clear. There’s a lot you can do by a fire, so let’s dig a little deeper. Not into ghost stories? Scare yourself silly by reading some chilling urban legends.
  6. Make ooey-gooey slime and then act out your favorite Ghostbusters scene, or create your very own horror story.
  7. Recreate your very first childhood Halloween costume and share a “then and now” pic to Facebook and Instagram. Make sure to tag us, we’d love to see it.
  8. Whip up some delicious Halloween cookies or cupcakes.
  9. Make a fun Halloween-themed candy gift bag and leave it on your neighbor’s front porch as a yummy surprise. Encourage them to pass it on and spread the fun to other houses in your neighborhood.
  10. Make a scarecrow. Dress the scarecrow however you’d like, and you can keep it up until Thanksgiving, too!
  11. Drink a pumpkin spice latte… DUH! What’s Halloween season without a PSL?
  12. Collect different colored autumn leaves and make a colorful collage. This is great for the kiddos, too!

  14. Make a Halloween playlist of all of your favorite terrifying tunes. Then, have a daring dance party!
  15. Deck out your house in Halloween home décor. Decorate your mantel, your entryway, your staircase and more!
  16. Roast pumpkin seeds. Don’t dig the taste? Decorate a Halloween pictures with them instead!
  17. Dance to Thriller like nobody is watching.
  18. Bake pumpkin pie.
  19. Go on a hike and enjoy the gorgeous fall foliage.
  20. Dress up your pet and have a fun Halloween photo shoot with them.
  21. Visit a nearby graveyard.
  22. Try to make contact with the other side with an Ouija board.
  23. Watch a Halloween makeup tutorial and recreate the look.
  24. Visit your local Spirit Halloween. While you’re at it, you may find your Halloween costume there!
  25. Go apple picking.
