I bought this at spirit and it was a HUGE success hope they make more jumping props in 2014! Keep up the good work spirit!
Worried about it lasting long.
Would use this at Halloween & anytime I want to Frighten the Wife who really hates even the smallest of spiders !
Worked great at first...motion sensor failed after 3 jumps....mechanics are not the greatest....overall look is great....
Idea was great. Scary when working correctly. However, mechanically inferior. Had 3 different ones that the jumping mechanism broke or was impaired. Motion sensor also intermittant. This was all using approved A.C. connection so batteries not an issue
This drew the screams out of the trick or treaters!
I picked this up on sale right after Halloween, so I've yet to try it out on Halloween night. However it was easy to set up and worked well being triggered by sound. Some props seem to need loud or sharp noises, this triggered easilly. It pops up quickly via 2 springs, and is loud, both of which are good things. The sound effects go on for a bit, though.
The sensor did not work well enough and the batteries kept draining so It would not work 90% of the time.it wasn't scary or work. The kids spent more time tring to set it than working in the haunted house. not happy
Purchased this for a halloween party we had. Placed it between shrubs and used the step pad. Thank goodness it was outdoors, so many people spilled their drink as they walked by. Everyone thought it was hilarious. Can't wait to hide it in a new location next year. It would be great to scare trick or treaters too! If you're ok with doing that. LOL
The scare worked well when activation pad used. However, didn't always activate. Weak mechanism caused retraction problems where unit would stop working. Recommend ac adapter
We added a few new props to our annual haunted house this year and while there were many wonderful screams and yells and gasps, nothing made them run like the jumping spider. We even had one mom accidentally trigger it, and when it got her, she literally dropped her kids candy bags and ran across the street while her kids rolled on the driveway laughing. Best prop we have added to our collection to date.
Be sure to screw down the battery cover. When the spider jumps, the batteries come out and you may think it is broken.
I used this this Halloween for the first time. It worked well. Assembly was tricky; the directions aren't too informative, and it took a while to figure out how to get it right. I had it outside (although it's NOT listed for outdoor use). It was misty but it continued to work well. It makes noise, a kind of chittering, as it goes back down after jumping. I wish it made noise as it was jumping also; it would add to the scare factor.
Since it was raining on halloween, I placed it on my porch and used the foot pad to control. Even the adults jumped!
Good and scary for the big kids.
Had the foot pad hooked up to it to not scare little ones. Works well.
I set this out on my porch for Halloween. It got lots of screams and a few people crying. It was great. This would be great in a haunted house too.
This was the hit of the neighborhood. We hid it behind a low screen wall with the "Step on me" pad, and sat back and watched the show. Lots of screams followed by tons of laughter. Best part was watching the previous "victims" bring friends by to get them to try it. Thank you for making our "haunt" the big hit!
The only downfall was we had to duct tape the base down. It jumps with such force that we couldn't keep it in one place, let alone perched on top of something tall enough to allow it to lurch over the screen.
I loved this spider. It scared my grandkids but they kept coming back. I brought it to my classroom for our Halloween party and my students loved it too. I then put it just inside the door and scared all my trick or treaters. It was great. I thought a plug adapter should have come with it...
I bought this for a small haunted house my son's school was doing as part of a fundraiser. It was a big hit and worked well. Even those of us that knew what was about to happen still jumped. :)
This was an awesome product. I did not know that the step pad was seperate as well as the power cord. I brought the step pad and now it is amazing. Love how I get reactions from people who does not expect it. Love it.
This is a great product and I am using it in a haunted house. The Try me button does not work really good with it but love the product!
This Jumping Spider was awesome...Our guests loved it!! Perfect for our Party!!!
Love this spider, it works well and is quite frightening when it jumps at you. Once you put the batteries in, it will squat down itself, I tried to push it down to "set it". No need, it does it on its own.
With the "Step Here" mat, adds a fun and scary Halloween trick-or-treating experience!
Bicycle customers even after I warned them they were standing near a spider, did huge leaps and giggles when it jumped. Grandchildren loved it and wanted to take it to their house. (Even a 4yr old girl)
its a fun product i recommend this for people who like to scare kids a lot!
I bought the spider on line in Aug. when they were on sale. I put it together in Oct, and it didn't work. I wrote Spirit an Email and explained what happened, they sent me another one , no charge, no exchange necessary. The second one works like a charm. Scared the STUFF out of me a couple of times.
We use this product to scare our friends and family. It jumps up really quick and has a great sound with it!
I really like this item
We put it under the table so it would scare people at our party. We decided to get the Step Here mat because it was not as sensitive as we wanted it to be. But other then that it is great!
