Works better than I expected. Fog pours over the side of the bowl and the colors are perfect. I will put this in my Witch's cauldron next year with my glass bowl and I believe it will work great.

For the price, this little device is amazing and works every time. As long as you're not an idiot, it will do exactly what it needs to do and provide fun for years to come. I bought mine last holiday, and just pulled it out again to use this year. No problems at all. The device has to rest in a shallow bowl/cauldron of water, with about a 1/2" to 3/4" (inch) amount of water over the top of the LEDs. Any more or less and it won't work correctly...if at all. If you're still having trouble with the fog not billowing over the sides of the bowl/cauldron...put something in the bowl for the device to sit on (like a lil step) and it should work much better (as long as there's enough water over the top). It might take a little trial and error, but it will work just fine as long as the water level is right. Remember: this thing is fairly cheap, uses plain h20, and will definitely look cool on a table or front porch. However, if you're looking for enough fog to fill a room and flow around...spend a few extra dollars and buy a fogmachine that runs on juice. Enjoy!

Plugged it in and the amount of mist/fog is a joke. Maybe if you want to have it in a 4 inch round bowl it would be ok. But for a larger cauldron (12 in) like I wanted to use it, this did not even fill up half of it with mist. Waste of money.

Started to work when I first plugged it in then hasn't worked since. Seems the ceramic plate doesn't want to vibrate fast enough anymore.

The first reviewer wasn't using it right. You have to have a large SHALLOW body of water, then the misty fog overflows nicely. Add some rocks to disguise the fogger, and you can direct where the fog and water goes (yes, it can be splashy if you don't have a wide and shallow water container). Much cheaper than the $60 I paid for one in a home decor store for a fountain!

Put it in a glass of water and the fog didn't even spill over the top of the glass. It also creates a bubbling of water splashing out of the container making a mess.
