I bought this costume for Halloween this year after seeing the Amy Brown fairy costumes online. After reading reviews on this one and others, it was obvious that they are going to run small. Luckily, I have a Spirit store in town so I was able to try them on. And it's true, they run small. This woodland fairy costume is by far the best of the bunch. It's made better, has better material, and I just like it better too. Since reading they run small, I tried on the medium, and it fit okay. But to make sure, I tried on the large too, and even though there's not a big difference in sizes, it fit slightly better. I'm 5'7 and 120 pounds and I needed the large. Although, if they only had medium, I would've been fine. The material around the bosom is good, it doesn't gap on me, but I am an A cup. I can see where anyone with a C or bigger might have a tight squeeze. All in all, this fairy costume is pretty and fun. Hope this review helps!

I think it's funny that someone said the small is for anorexics. I actually meet the clinical definition for anorexia (I'm 99 pounds and 5'4''), and the thing is still snug! And I too untied the corset-like part of it! That being said, the costume is ADORABLE, and I think it looks a bit nicer and more expensive than other costumes of the same price.

I usually wear a Small in costumes, so when I read the other reviews about the Amy Brown costumes running small I ordered the Medium. It fits fine in the body (I am 5ft 4in, 120lb, size 2-3), but I don't think anyone with anything bigger than an A or maybe a B cup will fit properly in the top. I wear a C or D and the seam goes across my chest and I definitely have major cleavage. I am not sure if I will wear this or not, but since I bought it on clearance I cannot exchange/return it. It is a really cute costume though! I just wish it fit better.

this thing is ridiculous. first of all, i too am a very small girl (size 3) and could not get into a medium, and yes i completely untied the ties. i bought a large and it is still too tight. then i noticed that one side of my costume is smaller than the other. there is a section above the corset that has seams around where the "girls" are, and the right side seam travels diagonally across my right top section. the top of the skirt also looks like it is sewn diagonally across the stomach with the right side higher than the left side. of course the right side of the skirt is also shorter than the left. i had to take the right sleeve off and add more green elastic to it to make it longer so it would move the rest of this down making it less noticeable. this is quality i would expect from a $5 [...] costume. As long as you use the size chart, the costume will fit. Though I should have ordered a medium for the extra room, I can still fit into (without suffocating or losing blood supply anywhere)the small I ordered. The wings are awful, very small and cheap, so it's a good thing I had a decent pair from last year. It stretches a little, but it should have been made with a zipper down the back... and my bottom feels exposed when I wear it, so buy the petticoat to wear under it. It looks absolutely adorable though!

I bought this costume last year on sale, along with a bunch of other's, in hopes of wearing one of them for halloween this year. I got it out of the package and looked at it and instantly thought, "did I get a child or teen size"! It runs super small! I ordered a large and this costume would barely fit a super thin teenage girl w/no chest! It's also VERY short. And my being 5'9, it just didn't cut it. So, I am lending it to my rail thin niece. If you have any sort of shape or curves, don't even bother with this one. You won't be able to get it on, unless you have a crowbar!

It was hard to put on in a small, but then I figured out that the corset thing was tied too tight. There's another review written and I think she didn't untie the ties like I did. Whoops! But after I figured that out I looked at myself and said 'WOW!'. It made me feel like a fairy. I would so buy it!

I bought this for a school project to have fantasy make up match a costume... I am a thin girl and decided to get a size bigger just in case the costume might run smaller... so i got a medium. When I opened it up, I would actually be surprised if it would fit an anorexic girl... It's an adult costume and I think that I might have to take it back to get a plus size.. when originally I was going to buy the small..And not to mention the wings are very cheaply made. Would not suggest this item
