This was a unique costume. It had a great twist to it with the (not included but shown) stripper boots. I love how the costume stretches so it can fit any body type rather than having curves made in the costume already. It was affordable because it contained everything except the leggings and boots. The only thing that could have been better was the Scissorhands. Being made of foam made them safe, but also made them look slightly cheap. I would just say plastic next time. I might make my own for next year actually. I can't wear it just once!

The costume is made cheaply, i wore mine one night and it is already ripped. It is very short, made for someone like 5'. I am 5'7" and had to wear a black petticoat underneath it, it was more like a top for me. Also it does not come cut across the chest, I had to do that myself. The wig is awful, looks nothing like the picture, huge rats nest, not curled or girly looking at all, i went out and bought a seperate wig, the wig they give you looks like the real male edward scissorhands, crazy. the belt was huge, i had to safety pin it around my waist.

the costume itself is very comfortable and looks very cute on. The scissorhand gloves on the other hand are a complete disappointment. The picture of the costume led me to believe the scissorhands would be made of that hard plastic like the Freddy krugger claws, instead they were made from the foam board you give children to do arts and crafts with. That alone made me dislike the costume.

Being a huge Edward Scissorhands fan I was so excited when I saw this costume online and had to have it! Unfortunately it wasn't so exciting when it arrived. The biggest disappointment was the hands, they are thin, flimsy, light grey (and unrealistic), foam-like shapes that DO NOT resemble scissors (NOT THE HANDS IN THE PICTURE!). On top of that the wig is NOT the cute curly one in the picture, its a straight frizzy one. AND, if that's not enough, the sleeve is TOO small and doesn't stretch!
Enough said, Halloween is TOO close and I have no time to send it back, I have to make best it I guess!

I got this because we have a high number of trick o treaters every year. Dressing up is a big deal at my house. This costume is great but needs a lot of extras. I had to get a petticoat to go under the skirt to make it look cute, also some boots that laced up about calf high, the gloves are black and not good quaity grey gloves like it looks like in the picture. The wig is NOT CURLY. I believe that the guy wig was put in the bag. I don't know. I went out and got a cute 1920's flapper girl wig. That made it precious. I got the chinese finger attachment metal nails to look spooky and just trashed the gloves. The sleeves are different lengths so it looks legit and the black choker and belt puts a good touch to the costume.

I ordered this costume back in the beginning of September and it took nearly 2 weeks for it to get here! Well, let me tell you, it came in the mail yesterday and the dress part itself was what I expected...but the scissorhands that they show in the picture are NOTHING like the ones they actually give you. It came with these foam made scissorhand gloves that were a MESS! (I recommend buying the deluxe gloves.) Also, the wig was nothing like what was in the picture. It was not curled, the size ran small, and there was no bangs on it. On the chest part of the costume there was supposed to be big rips going across like it shows in the picture, but yet again,the picture lied. The costume only had 2 inch rips across. I feel like the company false advertised this costume a bit and should really update the picture. I had to make a few tweeks to the costume itself but with a new wig and REAL scissorhand gloves i'm sure it will look great.

The dress, sleevelets, and choker were adorable! The costume itself had a great fit. The wig is nothing like the wig in the picture, it's very short and straight. I wasn't planning on wearing the wig anyway though, so this wasn't really an issue for me. There was, however, one thing I couldn't get past... the gloves shown in the picture are plastic and very well designed, these were NOT the gloves I received. The gloves I received were little black gloves with rubberbands attaching a floppy foam "scissor" to each finger. The foam is thin and the scissors have no shape! They just flop around and look NOTHING like scissorhands. Spirit does sell a pair of plastic, nicer looking scissorhands, but I would have to cough up ANOTHER [$]for gloves that should have been included in my costume in the first place. Very disappointed, the costume should not be pictured with a pair of gloves that aren't even included.

This is a awesome costume i got it today and i love it!! My only problem is the Scissorhands....They are lacking in the looks department. Also the description said that a make-up kit was supposed to be included and I did not get one.....The costume is still great!!

I was EXTREMELY excited for this costume. It's not horrible but it is a letdown. The dress is the good part. The dress is ADORABLE, made pretty decent for a costume... I absolutely love it! Onto the not so good stuff... The wig isn't very good. It is not at all like the picture but it's not a huge problem if you just get some hairspray and work on it. The biggest let down is the hands. If you buy the costume, please get the extra $30 hands. It is worth it completely. The hands on this one are made out of foam - which is okay but they are barely holding together. Get the $30 hands.

This costume is adorable, despite being different than the picture shown to advertise it. The dress itself is intact with no rips or tears in the chest area. The arm band for the cut-off sleeve is a bit tight and the dress is very short.The main leather belt for the waist is HUGE, and I won't be able to wear it. I like that the scissor blades are foam although they could be more realistic looking. Overall I am pleased, though I'll have to tweak it to get the desired result. Good deal for the price.

I bought this for a costume party that we're going to be attending. I just got it in the mail, and I love it! Tried it on, and it fits great. Haven't worn it, though, so I'm not sure of the quality of it, but it feels pretty durable compared to your average, run-of-the-mill costume. Can't wait to wear it!

The wig does not come close to matching the curly hair in the picture. The bodice of the dress does not match the picture, as there are no slashes across the front. The "scissors" were curly pieces of foam! Not what we were expecting!! On the bright side, the customer service was GREAT and we were able to get it exchanged at a local store.

I was very excited to receive this costume because I knew that it was unique and fun, without overly exposing my body. The costume does not include the tights/thigh-hi's and boots, which is fine because that's what it says. However, there are large and noticeable differences from what the picture shows and what you receive. I was highly disappointed when I received it and decided to return it.

This costume is quite different from what the picture shows:
- The wig that comes with it is nothing like the picture. The wig is this ugly straight hair piece that no one would ever even wear.
- The scissors in the picture are nicely colored and look rather sturdy. In reality, they are this ugly fake foam scissors that bend every way and aren't even straight.
- The slits in the chest aren't even on the costume, so you have to do it yourself.
- The silver gloves in the picture that are attached to the scissors ARE NOT the same type of gloves you receive. Instead you receive just plain black gloves that make it very noticeable that the scissors are attached since the scissors are noticeably a different color.

Overall, this picture is a large misrepresentation of what you will be receiving and the consumer should be informed about the changes instead of being deceived into buying the product.

Very misleading photo. The hands that you get with the costume are NOT the hands pictured. You have to pay extra to get the hands in the photo. The hands that come with the costume are not nearly as nice. Very disappointing. It should say that in the description.

The scissorhands are made of foam. Do not purchase this costume just for the hands. If you really want to make this costume work, spend the extra thirty and purchase the scissorhands that come separate from the costume because they are actual plastic and look a little more authentic. The ones that come with this costume are terrible. You'd get made fun of immediately. Otherwise, dress fits well, looks cute, and the wig will need to be manicured as it is completely straight hair right out of the package. Although a great idea, I don't think the costume is worth the 50 that I paid for it since I have to buy the plastic scissorhands in addition. I probably would not recommend.

The costume arrived ad I was super excited to have such an original but as I put it on the costume didn't match the design. It does not have the slash marks across chest and the gloves were not sewn together properly. I had to make alterations myself to fix the scissor hands and fix the dress to match the picture.

For reference, I'm 5'1", 32B-26-33 and I got the Adult XS.

First, the dress fits well and the sleevelet that goes over the left arm stays up without being too constricting. The band on top of that sleeve doesn't stretch much so I'm not sure how comfortable that would be if your arm circumference is greater than 10 inches.

The design and hardware on the chest area look great without looking cheap. However, they do not wrap around the whole dress. The belt makes up for it though. The belt itself is VERY long. I could almost wrap it a second time around my waist. I'd have to cut it down to size.

The scissor gloves are not as pictured. They're made of foam and the foam part is attached to the glove with a cheap elastic black garter. They kind of look flimsy when you start waving your hand around... I'm looking to buy the separate Edward Scissorhands gloves to complete the look.

The wig that comes with the costume is too small even for my head. But a few bobby pins later, and it stayed in place. Oh, and the hair is straight, not curly like the photo.

My only major complaint is that the skirt is VERY VERY SHORT... I'm not shy about wearing short skirts but this is ridiculously short! It's only 9 inches from waistline to hem. I'm planning to wear a thin skirt underneath to lengthen it a bit... and black boy shorts... and I also got the Big Hole Stirrup leggings instead of thigh high stockings.

Overall a great buy! Looking forward to wearing it this Halloween!

I was SOOO excited about this costume. I have previously bought (and loved) the Freddy Krueger one, so like unique costumes and was expecting a similar quality of the gloves. They are not at all as shown. They are very thin black gloves with these odd foam sliver things on top. Very flimsy and extremely cheap looking.

On the plus side, I did like the wig (although it was definitely not as cute as shown), and the dress was pretty much as pictured. The only thing missing on the dress is that it is not torn on the top as shown.

I give it 2 stars for the wig and dress, but since there is no point in being Edward Scissorhands without the scissorhands, I will be returning this costume and looking for something new.

This product is extremely cute but is not exactly as pictured. The scissor hand gloves are very poorly made. The ones pictures are an extra $30. There is no cut in the chest portion. And the belts are a bit worn even though its new. I am going to manipulate this a bit to make it more authentic.

The only issue I had with this costume is that it came in the mail with a hole in it. Other than that I love the costume, Although I do wish the scissorhands were not made of foam, rather them be made of plastic....and the wig does not come curly, as the dress is also not slashed in the front. Other than that, great costume, great design, fits great. :)

Misleading picture and description. The gloves in the picture are not the gloves that come with the costume. Very cheap looking. If you want the gloves pictured, they are separate $30.00 purchase. The top of the costume shows cuts in the fabric but it does not come that way, you must cut it yourself. Very disappointed!

I just received this costume today & it fit perfectly! The scissors came out a little folded but I think they can be fixed by flattening them with a heavy object. The wig is definitely not the same one as pictured, it is shorter and not curly. Also, the dress didn't come with the chest torn but nothing a good pair of scissors couldn't fix lol. I can't wait to wear it on Halloween!
