This was a great addition to my haunted house. I made a stand similar to the display in the store, but more durable. The chest was a little flat, so I added a pillow.

This is the third character makeover for an otherwise unchanged prop in terms of mechanics. Although this one got a coffin makeover too. The original was a skelly with top hat. Then came dracula. Now this one- a more evil looking vampire. Frankly, I like the skelly version the best but this one is certainly a scarier character. Two things to keep in mind with this prop. It's very tough to sound trigger. I had a thunder track speaker right in the coffin just to get it going. Worst yet though is that the volume on this prop is dreadfully low. Surrounded by other louder props and/or an ambient sound track, you will not hear this prop. All you're left with is a moving mouth saying things you just can't hear- unless it's quiet and no other louder props are fighting for attention. I had this in a scene with Rosemary, Demonica, and Thrashing Zombie and they drowned this props sound track right out. In this case, you'll need to amplify this prop somehow- I suppose with a mic and speaker. Nice prop, but low volume makes it a tough flaw to overcome in a busy display scene or haunt. If these issues are addressed, I could recommend the prop.

This has not been the most pleasant buying experience. I received my order a week ago and within 48 hours I set it up and tried it out. This order is actually a replacement to my original order where I had it for about a month before I set it up only to find the motor did not work at all: no lift, no head turning, no mouth movement, no red flashing eyes, and no audio. This time the motor works fine and I have all of the effects, however the costume of the vampire figure does not have the neatness of the previous figure. The upper arms are deflated and flat, as is the chest. And, the false shirt front with a chained medallion is short revealing a gap between it and the top button of the coat. I suppose I can remedy these imperfections with a trip to the fabric store for some quilt batting and applying it with a needle and some thread. However, I really had not anticipated having to make these types of corrections; I guess I expected to get something more perfect like what I saw in the advertisement.

Comments about Animated Vampire in Coffin Prop:
I have been buying props and products from SPirit for years to use in our home haunted houses. This year I was very disappointed in the products I bought. I bought the first Vamp in the store. Brought it home and it didn't work. I returned it to the store. I then bought one online, thinking the quality would be better. It arrived missing the motor, attachemnt pole and electrical cord. I contacted customer service who sent me another one to replace it. This one also didn't work. The audio and motor just squeal and makes a clicking noise. I am done with Spirit products.

Comments about Animated Vampire in Coffin Prop:
I tossed the lame coffin this guy came in and built a proper wood coffin. I had to return the first one when the flimsy ribbon cable failed and his head stopped working.
Best part was after he rises up, people would be started when the head turns and he starts his speach. The routine is a little long, during trick or treating people did not stay around long enough to hear the whole thing. A great upgrade would be a burnable IC that you could put your own phasing in and then have him repeat it.

Do Not Buy this item..
Could only get to operate by the "try me" button on the coffin
The eyes did not light up nor the jaw move while speaking

I was able to test this out in-store... I would not recommend this to anyone looking for a realistic animated prop. When he talks, the bottom jaw is separated from the chin.. it just looks dumb.

We are using this for our school Halloween party. The kids are going to love it! Easy to put together and super scary.

I am using it outside under a tent covered on 3 sides by black sheets...I have several animatronics and such under 4 of these tents in my front yard. I love the look and the sound of it. It seems really durable and am looking forward hopefully to many years use out of it.
