My 8 year old daughter wore these for Halloween. She is a small-average sized 8 year old. I was worried these would 1. be ladies stockings (nylons or tights) 2. they would be too big for her. We ended up loving them! They are thick socks, not tights. They kept her warm on a cool Halloween night. The sizing was a bit big on her, as we expected. We pulled them up over her knees and they stayed up just fine. She wore leggings underneath and they probably helped the socks stay up as well. If you want these socks to fit as shown in the picture, they will best fit a smaller/shorter woman in my opinion.
