Comments about Caribbean Pirate Costume:

Very nice costume for the price point if you catch a discount as I did (20%). Won the costume contest on a 90 minute Halloween pirate cruise out of San Diego with it. Very nice looking, some great materials are used, and nice details like the sash/belt and the fake boots looked surprisingly good.

Did have to accessorize to complete though, added a fake beard, an earring and an eye patch just to avoid the Jack Sparrow look/comparisons; also added a very nice plastic sword. Replaced the hat with one that came with a built in scarf and dreadlocks to better fit my huge dome and to complete the look.

Be warned about one thing, the hat that comes with this costume looks outstanding and is of a nice faux leather material and strong build. However, the crown is so small it would only fit a pre-teen boy, not a man. If you buy this, expect to have to replace the hat!

The hat that actually comes with the costume is not the hat pictured in the advertisement. The inside of the hat is so shallow that it can't be worn normally. The best chance of wearing this hat would require perfect balance. Unless it is tied to your head it will fall off at every turn... Hat had to be replaced which added another $30 to the [$] cost of the costume...!
