Face Painting 101:

  1. Begin with a clean face and pin a towel around neck.
  2. Apply the base with a sponge.
  3. Add the extra color details with a brush or small end of sponge.
  4. Outline and emphasize colored areas with crayons or makeup sticks.
  5. Complete the look with any accessories or wig.

  • Suggestions for use:

    • Pirate:  Use thick strokes of black to create bushy eyebrows, draw stubble on the chin for a goatee, sponge stubble onto the cheeks, smudge undereyes with black and use thin brush to draw on mustache
    • Mummy:  Use wide strokes in white to create "wraps" and outline in black
    • Skeleton:  Cover face with white base, fill around eyes and sides of nose with black, using a fine brush draw teeth in black above and below lips, then shade cheeks and chin with black "V"
