Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What forms of payment does Spirit Halloween accept?
A: We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover Card or American Express, PayPal and Spencer's Gift Cards. You may also use check cards or debit cards, as long as they are connected with one of the major credit card companies listed above. We do not accept personal checks, money orders, or cash.

  • Spirithalloween.com is happy to accept PayPal for purchases made on our site. With PayPal you make purchases without revealing your credit card number or financial information. You can choose to pay for your Spirithalloween.com purchase using your PayPal account instead of your credit card or check/ATM card.
  • If the card that you are using requires a pin while you are making the purchase, the order will not be accepted.
Q: Why is my order not going through?
A: Please check that all of your billing information matches that of your credit card billing information. Also, if there is a middle initial on your card, it will need to be included on your billing information. If you are using a different brand of gift card (i.e. Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, etc.), you will need to contact the 1-800 number on the back of the card before you make your purchase and inform the company that you would like to make an online purchase. They will attach a billing address to your gift card so you are able to make the online purchase. You may then use your gift card as if it were a standard credit card, but please note—the full amount of the purchase cannot exceed the amount on these forms of payment for this order to be placed.
Q: I placed an order, but I still haven't received it yet. What's going on? Where is my order?!
A: While placing the order, were you taken to a final confirmation page and provided with an order number? Did you receive an order confirmation email? Have you checked your spam mail for our emails? And have you received an email with tracking information? If you were not taken to a final confirmation page, have not received any email confirmations or tracking updates, your order most likely did not go through.
Q: How do I know if my purchase has been confirmed?
A: After clicking the "Submit Your Order" button, you'll be taken to an order confirmation page that will provide your order number. You will also receive a confirmation message to the email address you provided during the checkout process. To ensure that you receive the order confirmation, please add "webmaster@spirithalloween.com" to your email address book.
Q: How can I ensure I receive email confirmations?
A: To make sure you continue receiving our emails to your inbox (not bulk or junk folders), please add "webmaster@spirithalloween.com" to your address book or safe sender list.
Q: When will my credit card be charged?
A: Your card is only authorized when you place an order. We don't charge your credit card until the order has shipped and is on its way to you.
Q: Why was my credit/debit card charged multiple times?
A: If you pay for your order with a credit/debit card, your account will show two entries at the same time, an authorization and the final sale. The authorization hold will fall off within 7-10 business days (Monday-Friday excluding holidays), depending on your bank's policies. This hold allows us to verify that funds are available, so that we can begin processing your order. Unfortunately, with a debit card, the pre-authorization hold and final charge aren't combined into one single transaction. Should you choose to use your debit card or any card linked to your checking account, the amount of your purchase will be charged to your account immediately. The funds reserved for your order may be held by the bank, even though the transaction has not been finalized. The actual length of the hold is determined by your bank and is outside of our control. However, most holds are released within 2-3- business days (Monday-Friday excluding holidays). Since debit cards are linked to cash accounts, changes or adjustments to your order can result in multiple pending transactions on your account. We do not assume responsibility for loss or inconvenience due to held funds.

Q: Why am I seeing a charge on my card even though my order did not go through?
A: Though your order wasn't placed, you may see a hold (pending charge) on your credit/ debit account. When placing online orders, if the information provided during checkout doesn't match the information on the credit/debit card being used, then the order will not be processed. Your bank may hold the funds as unavailable until the authorization expires. This hold will typically be released in 48-72 business hours (Monday-Friday excluding holidays). These funds will not be available during that time. Please contact your bank if you have any further questions.
Q: How can I place an order using a gift card?
A: If you are using a Spencer's/Spirit Halloween gift card, please place the items you wish to purchase in your cart and click on "Checkout Now". This will take you to the page checkout where you will insert your billing, shipping, and payment information. Once you fill out your billing and shipping information you may then type in the gift card number. After you enter the number, click on "Apply". The gift card will be applied to your purchase. If there is still a balance for your order you may put your credit card information in and click "Submit your Order". The remaining balance after the gift card is used will be applied to your credit card. Please see the example picture below for a further description.
