You’ll need: orange construction paper, scissors, tape, markers and a strand of Christmas lights.
1) Count how many bulbs are in the light strand. Each halloween jack-o-lantern gets 2 lights for its eyes, so if you have a 10 light strand you’ll need to make five paper pumpkins.
2) Cut out pumpkin shapes from the construction paper, and have the children use the markers to decorate them as they like.
3) Cut out the eyes of the jack-o-lanterns and tape the Christmas lights so that a bulb lights up each eye. Repeat until all the pumpkins have eyes.
4) Hang on the wall and plug in for a spooky halloween lighting effect with none of the usual pumpkin mess!
*Note: this project works well with other Halloween shapes too! Try black cats or Frankenstein heads.
