Wash down the holiday goodies with a spicy fruit & cider blend:
· 12 oz frozen lemonade concentrate
· 6 oz frozen orange concentrate
· 6 cups of water
· 4 cups apple cider
· ¼ cup granulated sugar
· 8 whole cloves
· 4 whole allspice
· 2 cinnamon sticks
· Container of orange sherbet
Place lemonade & orange juice concentration, water, apple cider, closes, allspice, cinnamon sticks, & granulated sugar in a 5 qt saucepan. Cook until mixture comes to a boil at medium-high heat. This will take approximately 15 to 20 minutes. Reduce heat to low & continue simmering for 10 minutes. Remove concoction from heat & remove the spices. Cool remaining liquid at room temperature for 30 minutes. Chill in refrigerator for 2 to 4 hours. When ready to serve, pour brew into a punch bowl. Float desired amount of scoops of sherbet in punch.
Need a hot punch for a cold October night? You can serve the brew that way, too! All you have to do is add 2 tablespoons of butter while simmering the beverage for 10 minutes on low heat. Make sure you use a heat-proof pitcher & feel free to garnish this tasty potion with pungent lemons.
