PB n’ J Halloween Spiders
(Makes 8 Servings)

Turn the kids’ everyday lunch into an eerie experience:

·        3 tablespoons peanut butter
·        3 tablespoons jelly or jam
·        1 lb thawed frozen bread dough

Preheat the oven to 375°. Spray two baking sheets with cooking spray. Combine peanut butter & jam/jelly in bowl. Roll out & divide bread dough into 16 equal pieces. Place 1 piece of dough on floured surface & divide further into 4 equal pieces to be used as the spider’s legs. Roll each of the 4 pieces into thin ropes (try to make each about 8” long to give the full spidery effect). Place each leg side by side with a ½” between them & place on 1 of the prepared baking sheets. Divide a second piece of dough for the spider’s body – leaving 1 piece twice as large as the other. Flatten larger piece on a floured surface with your palm. Scoop 2 teaspoons of peanut butter & jelly combo into the center of large flattened piece. Bring the edges of the dough up together & seal seems. Gently roll this into a ball. Take the smaller piece of dough & roll it into a ball for the spider’s head. Center the “body” & “head” on top of the four “legs” to give the illusion of 8 legs. Continue process to make the other 7 spiders. Allow the dough to rise for about an hour, the spiders should double in size. Bake at 375° until golden brown, about 10 minutes.
