Caramel Apples for Halloween
(Makes 5 servings)

A holiday favorite! We’ll show you how to add a hint of Halloween to your apple:

·        40 caramel cubes
·        5 apples
·        1 tablespoon of water
·        5 wooden sticks
·        Wax paper

Wash & dry the apples. Remove the stems & insert the wooden sticks into the stem hole about ½ way into the apple. Melt the caramel cubes in a saucepan over low heat. Stir constantly until smooth. Dip the apples into the hot caramel sauce until the apple is completely coated. Place the caramelized apple onto the wax paper to cool off. Allow them to stand for about 15 minutes before moving them to the refrigerator for storage. Also, before cooling you can roll them in chopped nuts, crushed cookies, black & orange halloween sprinkles, mini chocolate chips, or use candy to make faces on them. Or simulate apple pie on a stick by sprinkling cinnamon & sugar on top. Want to up the halloween spook factor? Drizzle melted chocolate on the caramel apple to resemble a spider web & add edible spider halloween candy!
